Did Forster break his right knee? His goal kicks are fine.... His left footed kicks are fine.... but if he's under pressure on his right foot he miskicks it regularly. I think he's just not confident in it.

Also heard a few boos at halftime from the northam, and a fair few more at full time.

Agree on both if those points, Redmond nrrfs our encouragment and Puell does not deserve Xenophobia even if we think he I'd doing a poor job

I actually still think he is getting trouble with his knee. So he panics.

Claude Puel Managerial Record (all comps):
Monaco - 1.72ppg; They averaged 1.89ppg in the two seasons prior, and 1.47ppg in the two seasons after he left.
Lille - 1.50ppg; They averaged 1.69ppg in the two seasons prior, and 1.76ppg in the two seasons after he left.
Lyon - 1.74ppg; They averaged 2.11ppg in the two seasons prior, and 1.72ppg in the two seasons after he left.
Nice - 1.43ppg; They averaged 1.16ppg in the two seasons prior, and 2.44ppg in the half season since he left.
Southampton - 1.48ppg; Averaged 1.62ppg in the two seasons prior.

So at 4 of his 5 clubs, they have performed worse in the seasons he was in charge than the two seasons prior to his reign.
And at 2 of his 4 previous clubs, they got better after he left also.

Long and short, he's not a manager that we can expect will get us good results.
Maybe he's just an interim step that will improve the youngsters ready for the next guy to succeed. That's what I'm hoping anyway.... <whistle>

But who would we want. Very few obvious contenders, personally, I would like a real left side appointment who understands the club and fans, but struggling to think of a realistic option.

Best option, maybe make Fonts the manager, understands the club, his playing days coming to the end, and ends all transfer speculation, he will have respect if players and suspect will play more attractive football

Thought the worst thing about tonight was the shocking support from in the Northam/Kingsland corner. Some of the abuse was disgusting ... doubt signing for Fonte helped spur the players on the pitch on eitehr.

Well tonight feels like a definitive moment for Puels saints career (and the actions of board). The atmosphere in the ground will turn against him if he doesn't start to get some results or at least show some positive intent now and I can see it snowballing pretty fast after tonight. Losing to Hull...bad. Getting trounced by Palace...terrible. Losing to HSB at home on the head to head decider for qualification....heartbreaking. It's like when your parents would tell you they were disappointed...always seemed worse than getting shouted at and that's how I feel about tonight's result. the appointment of Puel was to adapt the team to control games across multiple fronts...that has failed in Europe and premiere league clubs will have us completely sussed. Also, he has fallen well short of his European objective that was mentioned previously. So now, no more need for tinkering. Play our best team and get some continuity!!! Other than Puel though I am disappointed with the board for this season in general and their over confidence on previous seasons is putting us at serious risk of taking 3 steps back unless they dip their hands into the kitty.

Yeah, Redmond was getting stick from the majority. The Puel abuse was very much in the vociferous minority but shameful nonetheless- mostly stuff like f*** off back to france, French c*** etc. but a few guys went on about Brexit and shutting the borders on him. Not the sort of people you want associated with your football club.

Oh, I was there, I saw that 1-1 draw and it was disappointing to be sure. It is the fine lines in footy that if Forster tips their only shot on target past the post, then we are all looking forward to the next stage of our European Tour.
As usual, I am grateful to all of those pointing out the inadequacy of our manager, lack of quality in our players and certainty that our best players will soon be on their way (and who could blame them?). I could not imagine being content to have missed a goal through leaving early and the mind boggles at the thought that I wouldn't celebrate a goal which meant we qualified! Obviously I need to work on my anger management issues. I clearly don't manage to produce enough!

Koeman's managerial record before Feyenoord in a poor Dutch league wasn't exactly great.

While there may be a few posters on here who are genuinely angry after tonight I think most are just disappointed in how we played.
Games can turn on a single moment of play but tonight we were not good enough - both in a tactical and performance sense.

If we had scored one of many chances against Inter we wouldn't have had the pressure today. If we were able to take more of our chances we would be higher in the league. But then we can't rely on ifs, we have to go with what happens. Tonight wasn't good enough. I am still blaming it on , manager, players and board equally and they need to sort it between them. This isn't a unique thing this season, so it isn't a one game thing.

May as well drag up Pochettino's record as well before he joined us if you're doing it. Pointless stats. Different situations suit different Managers and players etc etc.

I've not read through yet just looked at this last page...

But I hope none of that is referring to me when you say about people slating Claude & players etc.

Although angry, I feel I've put my points across (relatively) calmly and reasonably.

I stand by that tonight was nothing short of a disgrace.

Apologies in advance if it wasn't aimed at me <hug><cheers>

Just got in... I darent read the thread!

Very disappointed we didn't go through. We didn't do enough going forward for me, but we've been a bit like that for a while. Didn't seem to have the pace and drive if the Everton and Arsenal games.

I expect people are calling for Puel to go, which would be nuts really. I've been saying for several seasons that one year we won't have the upward curve and the **** will hit the fan. I expect this is that season.

    Toys at the ready.

Feel free if you've got the time. You can't really use that argument against my point without producing them really.

Edit: I'm not even saying that we should sack him, just that we shouldn't expect anything from the team while he's here. Maybe a 12th and a 14th place finish while we get some youngsters some game time.
