Have you seen Jay play this season? My uncle has a better chance at scoring a goal and he's dead.

I will disrespect anyone who sets up to play for a 0-0 draw in that situation. Complete coward.

Couldn't agree more. He has a real attitude problem and is the first to have a go at anyone if they make a mistake. His reluctance or inability to square to Romeu in the first half was unforgivable.

He almost seemed to give up at times in the second half. When you are playing badly you need to dig deeper than normal and put the extra effort in and the performance would almost be accepted as long as you are trying.

I'd like to add that I would completely understand it if Van Dijk wants out. If I were him I would be looking to move onto bigger and better things as soon as the season ends. He is a class above all our current players and will not fulfil his potential at Saints the way we are going.

Beefy, I think we are arguing the same point. Yes we ate weaker and no Mid catches the eye, and that is two fold, the resources we have available and the tactics, we are not that different to Lady years squad bar ( a huge Mane), but why is Puell not driving JWP to be the playmaker, I think he had the ability but maybe just mentally flaky

I'm not sure what we have to do to score a goal at the moment. Van dijks desperate strike aside its so awful to watch us try and score. I don't know what it's going to take to get the goals flowing but it needs to be done soon. Buy a striker and actually have someone to support him.

That may be true, but likewise, somebody needs to tell Bertrand to stop shooting from 25-30 yards out from off the angle of the corner of the 18 yard box. He may have scored 1 belter in training from just inside the box, but he's making some ridiculously ambitious/selfish attempts when either a cross into the box or a pass to a more advanced player would increase our chances of scoring far greater.

He's done this 1-2 times a game since he came back from injury.

JWP plays as a deep lying playmaker, so we would still have the same problem. He likes to sit back and cross balls about etc, he doesn't push forward like a real attacking mid.

Personally I think we should play like i do when playing as Saints on online FIFA.
    4-2-4
    Forster
    Cedric fonte vvd Bertrand
    Hojbjerg Ward-Prowse
    Redmond Long Austin Boufal

Yes its incredibly vulnerable to the counter attack and my defending is incredibly rash and last-ditch but boy does the attack do wonders.

And that is why tonight is a disaster and Puell should be sacked. We are in a real danger of giving Van Dijk a real excuse to leave

Probably because no-one else is scoring goals and he's tired of Redmond. I bet Bertrand is sick of making runs for Redmond to (mostly) ignore him or woefully underhit the pass to him.

We need to do everything in our power to keep Fonte and VD through January but I fear Fonte is lost though. He could have held onto the hope of playing in the Knock-outs for us but now all United need to do is submit a slightly decent offer say " Hey we'll let you play in Europe " and he's gone. I doubt he's on good terms with the manager anymore and that could be a contributing factor to his departure.

Agreed. Careers are only short, you've only got to look and see Barca have only won the champions league 5 times in their whole history. I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to wait around another year in a mediocre side for nothing.

Sacking Puel would be ridiculous. He has been far from perfect I'll give you that. He has made poor tactical decisions at times too. But he is adapting to a new country and league. He needs time in the same way players do, Romeu for example. We also have a huge semi final (that Claude has got us to) to play and getting a new manager will just disrupt things further. He hasnt overly impressed me but Puel needs til the end of the season at the very least.
