I have watched the entire series and am glad to report - spoiler free - that the final episode explains things nicely and wraps up all the loose ends. I was worried it was going to be another 'Lost' what with the metaphysical references to 'The Maze' but it is completely the opposite. It's very satisfying.

I just watched the finale of Westworld last night; it comes in at a whopping 1h42m. Yours is a good idea to watch the original film beforehand as there are references in the present series. They are merely nods and not critical to the plot but it adds some amusement to the viewing experience.

My recommendation for watching Westworld is to "binge watch" if you can. The plot arcs get more complex as the season goes by, and the weeklong intervals between installments make it difficult to remember the nuances.

That's right. So I suppose it doesn't get shown elsewhere (or do Amazon or Netflix ever 'sell on'?)

    Cracking series though.

I've spent the last three evenings watching 'The Night Of'. It was ****ing brilliant. Felt like a novel that you can't put down. I agree with Chazz, Turturro was absolutely superb. Riz Ahmed's transformation throughout is as unnerving as it is believable. Loved it.

'Westworld'. Excellent. Was worried as a fan of the film that it would let it down. It doesn't. It's an updated beast but the tension created from knowing that making robots as real as possible is going to be bad news is palpable.

'11.22.63'. It's really enjoyable but I had already read the book and unlike most American shows, it should have been three times as long to justify the story.

I love 'The Walking Dead', always have and feel it's returned to form. Though I feel terribly guilty for liking the bad guy. I even like 'Fear The Walking Dead' but it's not in the same league.

As a space geek, 'Mars' is a great watch. Mixing contemporary science documentary with futuristic sci-fi really floats my boat. It might sink yours, I don't know who's reading this. I assume Bengals will claim that Mars isn't really a planet. He'll promise a paper to prove this but never deliver.

'Ash vs Evil Dead'. Is it a modern day 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'? I like to think not, but that doesn't make it so. Bruce Campbell is ****ing awesome and as such, I will continue to be a fan boy. I love it, but I'm clearly biased. I will admit however, that the soundtrack is not as good as the first series, which doesn't help matters.

'Narcos' is really excellent. Up there with 'Breaking Bad.' I really like 'Better Call Saul' but understand that it might be a bit of a slow burner compared to the aforementioned.

'Penny Dreadful' was decent. 'Sons of Anarchy' was good and ended the only way it could. 'Emmerdale' is alright, 'Eastenders' is as miserable as ever and I haven't seen 'Coronation Street' for years. I'm just present for soaps, I'm usually on here when the wife is watching them.

'I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here' is great. I met my wife during series one, lost my Dad during series six and got married during season eight. Or thereabouts. It's not reality TV, it's heavily paid collected randoms who may or may not get along in any given situation.

    'Stranger Things' was good too.

I like other things too but they are my secrets.

Good call Des ...... Negan - the psychopathic nice guy, best portrayal of a bad guy since Alan Rickmans hammed up Sheriff Of Nottingham.

When Jeffrey Dean Morgan was approached to audition he knew where they were in the comics and accepted based on the fact that Negan was due to appear. Who wouldn't play that role? He's perfect for it. Just like Rickman was perfect for his.

Since the opener, where he was in full-on pscho mode his charachter has become quite complex; the Walking Dead is no longer about zombies it's about people .... and all the better for it.

Have you seen the proper uncut version of Negans introduction?

It's even more grim, British censorship made them cut it to ****.

Indeed I have, I watched it streamed from AMC. I love your use of the word ''grim'' <laugh> ... it hardly seems suitable but .......

It has to be about the people. My nephew (14) came round and I asked him if he wanted to watch it. "Isn't it just all about the people though?" he asked. "Absolutely", I replied, "It must be. What do you want? Even a 200 hour zombie apocalypse would get boring after 3 hours. Everyone would be dead and there would be nothing to watch."

He watched the first four episodes at mine and is now three seasons in. What delights await.
