I do find it odd that Fonte didn't get a start in any Europa match. If he was never played at all, you would assume that Puel doesn't rate him....but he does play him in other matches, so it does seem odd. His only chance is an injury as he wouldn't be brought on as a game changer....and we don't want one of them.

 

Yeah I feel for Fonte really. I like our rotation and Maya getting football but it seems weird to not switch them around and give him a single European game (so far!). Bad communication going on at the very least... I say that refusing to acknowledge any tiny possibility of the Man U agreement rumour.

Not important at the moment though.

 

Last I heard we were still in Europe Fran. I have to say that Claude is showing no room for sentiment in his heart, and that is fine by me. It would be unfair on Yoshida to drop him tonight, wouldn't it?

 

I like Yoshi as well and glad to see our CBs are all getting games. However, we have played 3 other sides....was he always the most suitable to play in every game. I will acknowledge that Puel may know a tad more than me.

At this point, I think so. Don't see why Maya couldn't have played a league game and Jose a EL game instead at some point earlier though, if it is important to him. But ho hum... Jose can call dibs on the final.

 

I don't want an injury either but would love Fonte to score a last minute winner

Really curious how Hapoel approaches this, given that a Saints win or 0-0 result are the only two that'd knock them out. Even away, they have to attack, right?

 

We've been playing 4-3-3 90% of the time for weeks now to be fair.
