Newsworthy didn’t last long with Tom Symonds! I see he debuts for the excellent Neil Mulholland tomorrow (2.40 Taunters). Not a tip incidentally. Merely an observation, for the nation. One that one would expect to go in at the meet though would be PORT NAVAS in the card commencer (12.30). Has shown much improved form on his last pair of outings for those old rogues, the Pipe’s, and off 91 he really should be too good for some exposed looking rivals. And if you’ve evidence that the ‘magic fridge’ gets opened later this eve – double your stake. Good luck all.
WITH PLEASURE 7/2 Chelmsford 7.25 Second to the mighty Squire one week ago with the rest well beaten. Now running off 69 which is three pounds lower than last week, due to go up 6lb next week. A handicap snip for a yard in decent form. Up in trip but wasn't really stopping last week. Standout price with 365 that I suspect will not last!
A nice sounding double for the in form Mr Hughes today at Newcastle with both looking for 3 timers. 12.40 WAITING PATIENTLY 2.50 THANKYOU VERY MUCH Currently just over 5/1 for the double.
First one wins well but the double is foiled by a non-runner .... But a single win still pays !! Well done mick
Loved that 1.20. Desert Queen attempted to make all under a very enterprising ride but Tom O'Brien was well assisted by the winner Briery Bell as he couldn't live with the pace all the way but stayed on dourly to pass Desert Queen who was knackered up the straight. Nice tactical race and well ridden by the front 2.
Loved the way that Tom popped BB in the eyesight of Desert Queen with a circuit to go. Revved her up and then she didn't stay as well up the straight.
Yeah, Fehily thought he had a challenger for the lead then and O'Brien just tucked in a little, perhaps didn't mean to lose as much as 10 lengths as he did but she stayed on very well and Desert Queen couldn't go on once passed. Game effort.
She's very quirky or hit and miss if you like. Stacks of ability when she puts it all together though. Has been versatile regarding trip so far too, I'd say they aren't sure themselves, but I suppose it is also hard to find races for her so they may have to keep chopping and changing trip/ground etc just for the sake of a run.
Problem is they are between handicaps and listed races and for mares you don't get many of them that suit. One at Newbury in the spring if I remember rightly. She jumps for fun.
Thats it. She's paying her way anyway and giving connections plenty of good days out at the races. There's one at Kempton around Christmas, she was 2nd in last year if she is still eligible. Not sure the conditons of it right now. Would love to see Hannibal The Great complete here. Come on boy!
A shuddering mistake by HTG down the back straight but a complete round and he looks ok. Plenty of positives. Big imposing animal. Bells Of Ailsworth looks fairly temperamental and is possibly a fortuitous winner there.
Interesting that Co Limerick trainer Eric McNamara brings Offshore Oscar on the 378 miles journey over the pond to Newcastle for his debut in the Bumper, well backed 10/1 into 4's, Paddy Brennan booked for the ride. Good Luck
Damn, just seen your post. Was getting a little excited for the double but like you say non runner now. Oh well at least I can find the odd winner now and again even at a short price.
Impressive by Kagney in the final race. They ran that from the front at a fair old clip too, I liked Kagney but felt Pylonthepressure would pick him up when he liked but Kagney came down the hill and went clear quickly before staying on up the hill albeit a little wary, needed company perhaps. Nice performances from both the front 2 again.
