Not sure why everyone is panicking, he seems quite happy where he is and hasn't made any waves to leave. I'm sure his agent is angling for an even larger amount of obscene money, like most other players do nowadays. The only loyalty players have is with what the Queen is printed on, everything else is just noise.
Agreed. I think both Ozil and Sanchez are happy enough at Arsenal and as long as we offer contracts that match where they are in there careers and the level of ability they have shown they will both sign new deals. Bellerin has signed a new deal, we need these two signed up for there best years. Then offer Cazorla a new deal, forget his age he is capable of playing on for a few more years yet as he doesn't rely on pace at all, though I feel he may become our new rosicky, injured for decent amount of each season but a big boost when available.
I have read somewhere that we have an option to extend Cazorla contract and it is completely in AFC hands, that is why we are not in a hurry. It is either offering him a new deal or extend the current one.
If we keep up this form,we are second in the league ahead of Mourinho and Guardiola with unlimited funds and klopp as well, that should be convincing to them. COYG!
guess Artisan says - your current 2nd place form over Manchester teams will be good enough to convince your top stars. is that it??
If we keep it up till the end of the season, finish runners up..it moght be good enough in view of the competition. COYG!
Every single rag today is reporting that Chelsea are sniffing around Sanchez. All rumours at the moment of course, buts its in the Metro, Sun, Star, Mirror etc So probably some truth to it. Wenger said he would rather let him go for free in 18 months than cash in on him in the summer
Oh anyone that says Arsenal are not one of the "big boys" is talking rubbish. Arsenal have plenty of money. I think in the case of Sanchez, as well as wanting a pay hike from 130k per week to 200k plus, he also wants to see some ambition from Arsene and the team. My feeling is he is waiting to see how Arsenal do this season, in the PL and CL
Whether Sanchez goes or stays, I don't think it will be resolved until next summer. Sanchez will want to see who Arsene plans to sign in the summer, and obviously provided Arsenal meet his wage demands, which they would ****ing crazy not to, especially if a move to Chelsea is on the cards if they don't.
I think there's also uncertainty over Arsene's future. Either way, we'll never truly know why there's a delay unless it comes directly from the players' mouths and even then, their words should be taken with a pinch of salt. It would make no sense for him to go Chelsea unless Costa is leaving which Chelsea would be mad to allow.
Well he has only been a striker for a dozen games or so. We could stick him on the right of a front three with Hazard on the left and Costa in the middle. (Essentially replacing Pedro/Willian)
Hmm, that would be a formidable front three. It seems like Sanchez is currently relishing his role as an interchangeable CF/Winger. At Chelsea, I would presume he would be stuck on the wing with little to no interchange of positions with Costa. I'm not doubting that he'd ever move to Chelsea, he just seems very happy being the main man at Arsenal. I doubt he'd want to play second fiddle. Again, I could be completely wrong.
Yeah it's all talk and rumour at this point. Just saying it could work. Am interested to see how this pans out, the contract talks I mean. This will finally show whether Arsenal have the minerals to compete on transfers like this.
100% agree. Chelsea rumours are trash. But Sanchez will most likely be sold to City, where he can be the main man with false 9 & s#!t. Especially with the way Aguero has played under Pep. no way you uys are going to break the bank in wage structure.
Arsenal can have no excuses not to wrap up his contract unless he'd asking for an extremely unreasonable amount that even the most die hard Sanchez fan can accept is unreasonable. That seems more likely. We've been City's feeder club for a while. If Augero does end up being sold, I wouldn't be shocked if Sanchez leaves for them. Arsenal have no excuses for selling him. With RVP, they used the new stadium amongst other reasons as a crutch for RVP leaving. If we really consider ourselves amongst the top clubs, then keeping Sanchez and Ozil will prove our financial clout. Letting them go will prove we've stayed in the same spot.
I think a lot of this is just the usual drivel from reporters trying to sell papers - as is the latest rumour that we are about to make a bid for Payet. But then again, I may be wrong....
Chelsea, City and United are linked with every player under the sun, all the time, being the "money" clubs. So it probably is BS. I can believe that Chelsea have enquired about him, why wouldn't we? He is a cracking player. But the chances of him leaving Arsenal to join Chelsea are remote.
