Exactly…maybe we couldn't afford him, simple as that. 40000 crowds , 6k or 7k in for nowt and Corperate Boxes empty.People on here bleat but dont even go. We don't compete with the big boys yet have a huge wage bill. It stinks , but maybe Moyes can sort it it . WE NEED TO GET BEHIND HIM !
    And turn up……………………..

There was photo evidence, a sunderland fan was in the bar with him, he took a photo of him sat with his agent, the fan then asked and it was confirmed he'd flew in to try and sign, M'Vila then sent a come and get me message from that very bar, then the fan had his picture taken with him at the demand of twitter posters to prove he was there with him. He wanted to join in the Summer 500%. Clubs cock up, just the latest in a factory line of **** ups. 8 million for a player guaranteed to double our money when we inevitably failed to keep hold of him.

And Santas coming down my Chimney...how often do we hear cack like that man he never flew anywhere near us. People from Sunderland connected know he wasn't coming. His agent moved the goalposts.

He did <laugh><doh> I watched it all unfold and I ain't liar. Everybody knows it's true but you <laugh> You are clearly completely naive to social media. You should get savy, love it or hate it's become a massive part of world culture. You also have a vivid imagination to think somebody would got to all this effort in an elaborate plot to fool the fans of a club. To the point of convincing a genuine fan he's some how come across 'nowhere near' the country, to lie for him against a fan base he shared and club he loves.

Time to move on. There's others of his level and higher that we can go for and it's them that we should now be going for.

Players like M'Vila, don't often come around for clubs like us. He's a quality player and with the position we are in now, it will be hard to attract players of his quality. Higher than his level and you are talking players playing for a top 4 team.

He's turned us down so I'm not going to dwell on it.

Firmly believe there's players out there who could add just as much as him and now the club need to find them in January/going forward.

Me neither. I didn't think he would be back and I had already written him off.

Hopefully Moyes can find us a couple of gems then, because players who have already made it and have the big reputation like M'Vila are going to cost an awful lot of money.

Moyes has paid just about double the amount for N'Dong than he would have paid for M'Vila, but he is only half the player, imo.

Can't say I disagree on N'Dong. Every time I see him he looks tidy. Need to be a bit better than tidy for 13-14m.

I think we judge a player too quickly. Ndong is, IMO, a non stop centre mid. Decent passer and not scared to play the Hollywood pass or the 5 yarder. Canny shot on him too.

He's only £3.6m more than Rodwell remember!

The way I read it tonight, mvila has now changed his mind about the pre contract. That's how it came across to me anyhow! Will read more in the morning I guess

And Kirchoff was 9.25m cheaper than Rodwell. Does that make him so much worse?

If it was a pre-contract mate, then he would have been ours. What they are saying is that they was an agreement, I'm taking that to mean a gentlemans agreement.

I also think Sunderland have done it half hearted as in 'yeah if you promise to come back we'll give you a few year contract, see ya'

Roswell is maybe a 4m player. His 10m fee isn't a benchmark of what we should be getting for our money.

Not saying N'Dong won't do well for us. Just not seen anything in the first half of the season to suggest we've got value for money.

Yeah it sounds like M'Vila has changed his mind about joining with a few weeks to him signing for us. Not going to slate him. Not going to wish him well. Just another player who doesn't play for us.

Martin Bain, the Sunderland chief executive, said on the club website: “I was contacted this week by Yann M’Vila’s representatives, who advised that the player no longer wishes to join Sunderland.

“There was a three-and-a-half-year agreement in place. However, after discussions with the manager we have decided not to enforce the contract. Any player that we bring to Sunderland Football Club must be wholly committed.

“Yann M’Vila will therefore not be joining us in January and we wish him well for the future.”

I don't blame the club at all for this. As a business decision, it makes no sense to spend £8m on a player who has agreed to sign for free in 6 months.

He's pulled out of the deal, which, looking at the club statement, we could have enforced anyhow. Can't work out how the club is to blame. If it was down to the club and him being pissed off, surely he says "get stuffed" in September? He's got a better offer from somewhere which is why he's pulled out now. I reckon, until now, we were his best offer
