I told my lad years ago Santa doesn't exist. It's an outdated concept and excuse for perverts anyway.
I feel the same about religion mate but I don't make a point of lecturing other people's kids. I'll believe in Santa and Harry Potter as long as my kids do. You only get one childhood.
Absolutely - ... when my youngest was 8 or 9 some knob kid at the school was trying to tell them all that Santa didn't exist - my littl'un asked me and I replied that some people believed and some didn't - but did she really want to take the risk with her Xmas list for Santa? ... that gave us another couple of years grace ... For me the essence of Christmas is all about how your kids enjoy it and the memories of how you enjoyed it as a kid ... the youngest ones in my extended family are still amazed by the presents that appear overnight etc and we'll still have a couple of years of that to come thank god... all too soon they'll be all too aware that the world is a pretty **** place where greed and envy cause people to perpetrate despicable acts and that religion is often used as the ignorant justification to slaughter strangers with different views and culture to your own ...
