Should have signed him when we had the chance. We've missed out on genuine quality for no good reason.

****ing disgrace of a decision to not sign him in the Summer. ****ing Short the tight twat.

In today's market, he's a £15m player minimum. Mags paid £12m for ****ing Shelvey who's only started playing in the Fizzy Pop league.

If he wants to make money, here's an idea, pay £5/6m (reported figures at the time) for M'Vila, he shows again that he's a top 10 player minimum and we sell him for £20m next summer. Just like the mags did with Wijnaldum.

He flew to England on deadline day.

He posted pictures on his official Instagram saying he was devastated we didn't sign him.

Yep, he didn't want to come.

I'm struggling to think of a more clearly open situation of a player holding out for a move in the last few years. Even Sissoko was subtle in comparison. People can draw whatever conclusions they want but i find it difficult to accept people aren't sure whether he wanted to move to Sunderland in the summer.

It was all over social media - it's the quickest way news spreads nowadays. If SSN are reporting something it's probably been all over Twitter for hours.

There was a link earlier in the thread, if you chose not to look at it then that's fine, but it's pretty obvious, IMO.

Would you fly over here ? So he's like Odemwighe, no deal in place….wed all like to think it but I think its bull, If you believe fair play,
Who are we gonna get as a striker tho ? Defoe will get injured and thats where Moyes should invest, don't you think ?

Yes you 100% do need another striker though I'm beginning to think your budget has been blown making Defoe bionic - he's never stopping. Plus Anichebe could do "a job" for you on his lonesome and Borini is on his way back so it's not as bad as all that. The weakest part in you team though once you scratch the surface.

I've put up a link which states that he flew to England. There's pictures of him at the airport, I can't be arsed to find them.

He was flying from Russia or France, not like he can just jump in a car if he gets the green light, is it?

It shows enthusiasm that he wanted to be here. How much proof do you need?

The striker question is a completely different argument though.

There plenty of evidence staring you in the face, if you chose to ignore/not believe it, then that's your prerogative.

We're just going round in circles, so I'll leave it there.

    How do you know this?

Yeah, I do think Moyes needs to invest in a striker. Southampton fans aren't doing back flips about Shane Long, at the moment. I'd go for him.

We can call Short as much as we like. Won`t change anything. None of us know what his personal demands were anyway.

Pointless arguing now really. It`s gone.

What? A change of mods and suddenly we can't just make **** up, argue over nothing hypotheticals and start pointless arguments. Grandpops clearly feeling threatened and setting new rules.

    Mod change please.
