When you consider that when Leeds sold Aaron Lennon to Spurs they got £1million, we should be laughing our socks off. Admittedly it was six years ago but Leeds got stuffed. If we were getting that sort of deal then I could understand the anger.
He's better then Walcott at this age and maybe better then Bale but i doubt he will have the same luck in becoming one in the best in europe like Bale. He's not as fast as Walcott but he has a better footballing brain on him and is able to put a good cross into the box.
Aha love the article on the OS, seems to be subtly having a dig at Arsenal - "The deal for the midfielder(...)was done with Saints in the driving seat for the duration of the protracted negotiations and the transfer was completed on our terms." "...meaning that he moves into the top flight having never played above the third tier of English football." No "we wish him luck" or "we thank him for his contribution" comments either.
Cheers Alex and thanks for the games and goals. Personally i think and strongly believe this is a good move for the lad and for Saints. Saints are a strong club now with a real belief and 'want to win' mentality whic NA has got on the training ground with the support of NC. The lads know this and are all keen to be a part...a genuine bunch of lads who really don't want to lose games and believe in that. Alex is young and , let's be honest, wanted away from Saints...the lure of Arsenal and a nice wage for a 17yr old who can blame him. So onwards and upwards Saints..... COYR!!!!
Brilliant news for us if true - 12-15 mil!? Hell, even for 8 mil I'd drive him there. We played some of our best football towards the end of the season without him and we certainly didn't miss him Saturday. No player is bigger then the Saints, end of.
We're in the money, We're in the money..................................... let's invest wisely in quality!
