Best keeper in the Prem. Vultures hovering. Put a £75 million price tag on his head. That should sort it
I`d much prefer him to stay but if he does have to go it must be for seriously stupid money. I have more confidence in Bain to do better than our past dealings. Must admit I thought we might have done better with Kaboul but looking at his injuries since he left it wasn`t such a bad deal after all. Coming to something when breaking even is an improvement. Pickford is one our few assets with any kind of value so I can see where the temptation might be to sell. Shouldn`t be considered imo but as we know when the big lads come calling......
Certainly one of the best up and coming keepers in the world and already Premier League standard. Wouldn't say he's best in the league but could quite easily become one of best in the world. Longer we keep hold of him the more we're going to make. We must resist and ignore all offers for the next few windows at least.
Currently he is nothing but a novice with massive potential and the bigger boys need the more finished article before laying out big money. Depending on how he develops they will be back in three or so years when his contract needs renewing. Relax and sit back.
Hardly a novice. He has 101 football league appearances to his name and 8 in the cup. Jordan has been playing first team football for years.
It doesn't make him a novice though, he's moved up levels with his development. He's played every professional league this country has to offer. He has bags of experience for 22 year old goalkeeper. A Novice has no experience. Maksymilian Stryjek is what I would class as a novice, no first team experience. Think you're massively underplaying the lad palming him off as a novice.
There`ll be a lot of eyes watching that lad. His progress will be very carefully monitored. I hope it`s later rather than sooner but when the big boys do come calling we won`t be able to resist. That`s the bottom line. We must make sure when it happens we squeeze every last £ out of them.
Put £75m on a players head and you better be prepared to pay him £200k a week. Just say he's not for sale, much easier.
I believe every player has a price. What would it take, for you to agree to sell him? If Liverpool came in with one of their crazy offers, and were prepared to pay 40 million, would you sell?
Absolute bollocks. All the big boys are watching a 'novice'? A 'novice' sat on the England bench? If you can't see how good he is and judge him thus far them I don't believe you know a great deal about football.
Was a bit novice Saturday but De Gea, Cech et al are like that at 22. Best keeper since Shay Given over there. He got us promoted that year, some on here must remember. Went on to keep a very average Mag team in the top half for 14 year. We have to keep him. 15pts a year according to Cloughie.

I remember Shay Givens time with us, very well. Didn't he keep about 17 clean sheets in 20 games, or something close to that, I think it was. I remember a game against Tranmere when two of their strikers were through on goal, but still couldn't beat him. After their quick, one two to get past him, he somehow managed to spin around and save the ball on the line. How old was Given then? I'd say he was a bit better than Jordan is now, from what I've seen of them both. What sort of offer would it take to sell him?
I think it's relative to how you'd spend it. £20m would be great if you spent it on two brilliant players. £60m would be crap if it was swallowed up by relegation bills. Right now I'd say there'd be few/no takers over £30m but the sky is the limit for the lad and he's got a lot of time on his side... His mentality and loyalty will be tested, inevitably if he carries on producing and improving.
Totally agree. I'm one of the seemingly very few, who would be willing to sell him. Moyes is our manager and we have to back him. He's already hinted that the odd big player will be sold to generate money to bring in 2 or 3 more players to improve the squad. If that's his way of doing things, then I'm prepared to trust him on that one. 30m in January and I'd be prepared to let him go, mate.
If that £30m was all made available it could go a long way in the grand scheme of things. £45m in the summer would be worse than £30m in January, if you don't avoid the drop. Mannone is no mug. From a selfish point of view I hope he goes to Real Madrid.
There's very little between Mannone and Pickford, at the moment. I'd have no problems with Mannone seeing the season through. Although obviously, Pickford has enormous potential and will go on to another level from him, in the future. I have a feeling that it will be Man City that comes calling. His distribution suits them down to the ground and Bravo, is ****.
Cracking young keeper Given. A bit above where Pickford is now I think though there`s nothing to say that won`t change. We could have kept him. Can`t remember the fee involved but whatever it was Murray wouldn`t pay it.
