Do you think you've strengthened?

Just to be a dick but based on Darwins theory of evolution we are technically all apes ;). So using it as a racial argument is idiotic even for a biggot.

I do agree though that we are a much stronger side than last year. Bent is the only person we havent replaced (i hope we do but i carnt see it). I personally think at the moment, Hendo was over-rated and getting 20 mil for him was day light robbery. Seb has much more in terms of delivery and Gardner poses more of a goal threat.

  2. Cabaye struggle against Catts? <laugh> You're judging him before even seeing him mate. He's all most as tough as Barton, just as creative and a better set piece taker.

If Catts starts **** with Cabaye.....

  3. I'm sorry if my comment offended anyone, but i really didn't mean ape to be a racist comment, i call players apes if they're slow and clumbsy, not because they're black. I call some big white players apes.

It was a reference to Catts 'face a mother would struggle to love', not his footballing ability.

Cabaye may genuinely shriek in fear.

He played in pre-season and got himself crocked. Then made the very occasional appearance with absolutely no impact whatsoever. Then he got his chance v Notts County in the cup. He burst down the wing. Got the ball just ahead of him with people in the box. The perfect opportunity to whip in a cross and ended up slicing the ball high, wide and miles up into the stands. Then we never saw him again....

He's due back tomorrow apparently, so it seems highly likely.

Anyway, as I've said before, I think Sunderland have improved a great deal in depth, but only slightly in actual quality of the starting 11. And I honestly think that is mostly down to how Sessegnon has improved so much. If it wasn't for him, there would be few stand-out figures for me. The team is made up of mostly mid-table quality players, which usually doesn't get you much further than a mid-table finish, unless Bruce can work some magic. I have heard some mackems say that's all they want this season though, so it should be fine in that respect.

Mind you, my views will change if you guys bring in either Adam Johnson or Niko Kranjcar.

    I like this quote.

Our team last season was easily good enough for 10th, or better, but injuries cost us, a lack of strength in depth.

If the strength in depth is now there, we should be able to easily push for a better finish.

Sessegnon, doesn't just improve us, he transforms us.

I agree with Dr Beak - a lack of strength in depth cost us hugely last season and the signings should avoid a repetition this year. Would love the see the change in Chaapaz's views and the signing of a genuine leftie - if we do and if they stay fit and if they all perform as they should who knows...
