CSKA one of the most agricultural teams I've ever seen. Even more so than last game due to that Wernbloom guy being out. Positives: Eriksen has been absolutely superb. This is the player we all grew to adore over the past few years, not the languid, half-arsed stranger who turned up for the first few months of this season. Alli looking back to full fitness but can't be so wasteful at this level. Son's decision making remains baffling to me. Does so much right but the final ball is almost always lacking in quality/intelligence. Rose and Walker superb but our defence looks vulnerable. I haven't quite warmed to Dier in the CB position. After a year playing in midfield it is understandable that his timing and positioning often seem just that little bit wonky. Toby's return couldn't come sooner. Oh and a mention for young Mr Winks who has shown drive, confidence and inventiveness Let's grab a 3rd goal early on and wrap some key players in cotton wool asap.
What happens to our defence in the CL? Same players, but the shape of the side is just not disciplined. Hope it's not the Wembley effect or we'll have a nightmare season 17/18!!
Ferdinand commentating on vertonghen's "comedy defending" when losing out to tosic, who provided the assist for the CSKA goal. "I've played with Tosic at man united and I've never seen him win a header in my life"
The pitch is a little larger than WHL's, but it seems like a substantial difference, for some reason. Dier dropping into the defence from midfield's not a feature at the moment, so that might contribute?
That was a very cynical foul by Berezsuitskiy. You need them sometimes, though. Porto 4-0 Leicester. Getting quite bad for them. Don't need that.
The team already looks better. Alderweireld back alongside Verts and Dier in midfield where he's more effective
