How in any context is that accepting? Unless you mean, of course, that 50 years earlier they would have hung him?..

@Bodinki did you mention the Victorian era or homosexuality? Dull is convinced you posted an inaccurate comment on the Victorians' attitude to homosexuality.

Wilde did, not long after the law changed and for reasons beyond just homosexuality, so it's hardly an apt example. Plenty didn't.

No I believe I said that attitudes in Britain had become more liberal in the last 200 years.
Don't think I mentioned homosexuality, not in that post, and I definitely didnt mention Victorians, specifically, although 200 years ago would put it NEARLY in that era, but not quite

Yes, I didnt specifically mention drugs or homosexuality specifically, although those ARE the sorts of things I was referring to.
But also religion, sex in general, marriage, the issue of race and gender identity etc.
