Every player should get £10,000 max a week and get a sponsor to fund his lavish lifestyle, simple as that. So a squad of 24 first team players would be £12,480,000 per season, a big difference. Then more money for the stewards and other staff, ground rent and maintenance.

I love how one of the punishments that can be handed out to clubs that spend too much money and put themselves at risk is to take money from the club in fines, yup sense all round there!!!

Seems like something that's gone on for too long and has left us in trouble but we're finally taking steps to turn it around.

I guess this is the mysterious 'rot' at the club, wasting money on the wrong players and not being able to replace them because of other financial errors.

I think it's worth pointing out that the private bank charging the whopping interest is non other than Drumaville Limited. Our owners company.

    High wages still?

We've got no ****ing players anymore. How do we possibly still have a ridiculous wage bill?

    He must be.

Half of our squad is kids on low wages.

Instead of keep looking at a high wage bill, we should be looking at building the brand. It's only a high wage bill because we barely generate any revenue, outside of Sunderland.

I heard we were still paying players who had left. Don`t know whether it`s true. Sounds a bit daft to me but I wouldn`t be surprised.

We`ve still got that Alvarez nonsense to sort out yet.

One of the youngest and smallest squads in the league. Tells me we're still paying a proportion of wages of players we've moved on.

I understand our transfers are in a bit of mess to. Apparently we haven't paid a lump sum for a player for years and we've got installments coming out of our arseholes, even for players who are no longer here.

    Forgot about Alvarez <doh>

If we are supplementing wages when in this financial position then we are dafter than I thought.

Buy poor players for top price on top wages. No resale value and end up giving them away while still paying the instalments.

    Brilliant.

I think it was graham anderson on twitter who said it in general conversation with somebody. It came up when he reported we had only just made first installment for Borini this summer.

Have the figures been released for this year yet?

I think you'll have slashed the salary bill mate, in the last 12 months but like you say a lot more needed. That Invest In Africa thing seemed promising but it really didn't come to much.

The players have to come first though, then the money. Brands will invest in big players.

If Stoke can get Shaqiri then there's no excuses to be not going after similar, at least once per season.

The wages have to have come down.

Likes of Fletcher, Graham, Brown, Giacc and that's before I've even really thought about it. Even M'Vila's wages.

Khazri and Kone won't be on huge amounts coming from a poorly paid French league. Jan possibly more as he was at Bayern.

True about players coming from continent as their wages as squad players are relatively low. The killer is the Bosman rule, pay 10mil for somebody and a four year contract is needed to protect both interests. If they do not fit it is economic sense to let them go at the three year period for a reduced fee. Hard lesson all round except for the player.
