Most fans are well aware who is to blame for the situation the club is in

Btw the low attendances are not just because we are ****

PLT, you have a point. But I don't think anyone here is expecting a win. Set up to give it a go for ****s sake.

I would have no complaints if we went 442, started Bowen and Diomande and gave it a go from the 1st minute. We might lose... but we MIGHT win. At the moment that hardly seems a possibility. If games against relegation rivals are being classed as damage limitation where are the points to even make an effort at staying up going to come from?

Nah i know that. I live in Cardiff and went to a few games when they were in the premier league. Once the drama of the manager, chairman and the performances game to effect people stopped going because they no longer enjoyed the club.

The poor attendances have very little do with the poor football.

The club scrapped concessions, so now a 3 year old, a 33 year old and an 83 year old all have to pay the same. In addition, they kicked thousands of pass-holders out their seats to create a new away end, but the away fans were never moved, so it's been left empty for no good reason. Hence thousands boycotting.

But that's exactly the point, we do have.

We have a right winger playing at right back, he's a crap defender, but he's a good wing back. We have a left back who also looks better as wing back. We have a very good central defender sat on the bench, switching to 3-5-2 seems obvious to everyone other than the manager.

We played Newcastle in between but I agree it's not that simple. Mbokani getting sent off made his team selection harder for last night. I'm not asking for all out attack either. My problem is he is trying to play cautiously with players that can't or won't do it. If we are going to try to stifle their midfield by playing 5 midfielders then play battlers who will work hard. Meyler is not the best footballer but he gives everything. Mason and Henrikson have not been at the races all season yet he continues to play them both.

I get your point there but I think Phelan would say it was working, and the only thing that made it not work was absolutely shocking marking at a set piece. For some reason that's been an issue all season and it's hard to put your finger on why. Our centre backs are the one thing that looks good on paper so we really shouldn't be conceding from a corner every week but we are. You could drop Mason and Henriksen for Meyler and Tom, not a decision I'd particularly argue against, but it wouldn't stop us conceding the crucial goal from a corner would it?

I think we would have the ball more and if nothing else stop them getting into goal scoring positions as often. You make more mistakes when under constant pressure. Meyler, Livermore and Huddlestone did alright 4 years ago playing in a 5 3 2 with wing backs. I'd like to see that tried again, play Snoddy in behind Diomande while we have few other options.

Agreed again, but 3-5-2/5-3-2 depends on the two up front. When we had two proper strikers in Long and Jelavic it was good because they both worked the defence and caused problems chasing everything when we got the ball. When it was Aluko and Ramirez up front it was dire. As bad as last night. It has to be two proper strikers. If we could play it with Diomande and Mbokani that might work, but they've both ****ed that up by losing their heads and getting sent off.

And this is the point. He's got **** all options because of all these stupid decisions made by others around him. Mainly Ehab but also the daft lads up front letting us all down with soft reds leading to 3-game bans. And it's not as simple as just playing the team people on here want and automatically winning.

Did we not play with Fryatt and Quinn upfront in the cup final? It wasnt great but they did ok. I agree its not ideal but i think Snodgrass and Diomande could do a job until Mbokani is back.

They did change the game after we scored and nearly scored towards the end.

We did, but we barely got out of our own half apart from the three set pieces early on, so that's a perfect example. I like 3-5-2 with two actual strikers, but if yo end up with wingers up front it's a horibble strategy that we've seen far too many times already.

We could have scored also, WBA are ****, we're **** also but if Phelan had got his tactics right from the start i think we would have done better first half and perhaps took the points.

So you believe we should be mid-table and its all Phelan's fault?
