Martin Samuel: It may be sentimental, but the draw for the third round of the FA Cup remains special to many. We used to crowd around a radio and listen during lunchtime at school, back in the days when you always knew when the draw was. Monday’s will be held at 7.10pm on BBC2, before a second-round tie between Lincoln City and Oldham. They still don’t get it, the Football Association. When it comes to the FA Cup, tradition is all they have — yet it is the first thing they surrender.
That draw is uninspiring to say the least. I see Cambridge are at home to Leeds. I hope either our game or that one gets moved to a different timeslot. I'd quite like to go along and laugh at Leeds, after all, Cambridge almost play in the right colours.
It really is ****e, struggling to pick anything out for obvious TV, most of the PL vs lower league sides are at the wrong ground for TV as well.
I regret to say the vermin seem to be stirring, and I suspect we will be playing them next season as underdogs.
