Apparently non- football threads are ok here as they are at Hull City Mad. What do people think? Keep it respectful.
Sad , it is not radical extreme groups but the poor, and middle class. Hope they get through without being shot by a dictator
It has been interesting to see the speed with which Mubarak has turned to his Army. Especially since he has the world's tenth largest at his disposal. However, so far they appear to be exercising restraint. The tanks shown on the news are American - not surprising as most Egyptian military hardware is bought from the United States. The funding provided by the US may explain the tone of HC's most recent comments to Mubarak; uncompromising! The situation in Egypt is far more serious to the West than what recently happened in Tunisia. For one, Egypt holds the keys to the Suez Canal - a nautical gateway vital to world shipping lines.
That might damage the Suez Canal though Dean. Anyone want to do a pool on when Mubarak does a runner? I'm going for 3.30 wednesday afternoon.
I think his race is run BUT he has yet to indicate when he will finish. He could try and hold on until the elections. He may go sooner if his Generals switch allegiances.
I worry that when tomorrow if the police try and get back on the streets we could see some very distressing scenes.
BT998 - that is fair comment which is why I think the Army have rolled into Cairo. Tanks are more menacing than fat Egyptian policeman!
The missus got caught up in a bit of pyramid selling a few years ago. We have one as a time share....ther's no point now!
