That'll do....avoided not only the big guns but any PL club...would have been boring to play a team that we would play twice anyway. Shame not at home though.

That's a small blow, particularly given the other sides who were left in the hat with us (once Palace got pulled out, Norwich were by some way the hardest tie we could have got). Liverpool can now put out an entire second string immediately before our 1st leg and still progress, whereas if we do that, we'll be risking going out. But the Liverpool game has to take priority.

 

If we win Thursday I'd be tempted to put all the kids out for Norwich.

A tiny bit of me was hoping for Chelsea away, just to get some free weekends later in the season to focus all our attentions on our journey towards Europa League glory!

Maybe see who we get in the last 32 first. If we got Seville for example, then choosing to bin the FA Cup might not be such a great idea.

Straight shoot-out with Lyon in the final round of CL matches, as far as I can see. Seville have a three point lead and won the home game 1-0. So Lyon need to beat them at home by two goals (I think a 1-0 Lyon wins sends Seville through on group goals scored).

 

Fair enough... sorry mate I know that was besides the point anyway but we'll just have to see who we get if we win.

I'd probably still send a much weaker side to Norwich regardless though with Liverpool in mind.

 

Oh without a doubt I'd be putting a weakened side out against Norwich, purely because of the Liverpool game. But if we're out of Europe - or looking like we're probably heading out - then I just wouldn't go as far as to rest the lot of them.

Be interesting what we do with Jay. Should be a great chance to start him - but that would cup-tie him...

Not a very good draw for us I fear. If Norwich play at their very best a win is not out of the question but I am thinking an away win is more likely or at best a draw with a bad away defeat in the replay. Oh well, next season maybe

We might have some points on the board but have played well for barley 180 minutes this season

Cup headlines are all about Stourbridge beating Northampton [that won't go down well in the FLT household], but Eastleigh beat Halifax Town Away 2-0 [after 3-3 at Home] to go into the FA Cup 3rd round. Excellent.
