And will everybody please stop building Matip up as some sort of saviour? I know Christmas is coming and all that like, but you're just heading for disappointment if you think his absence was the only issue.

What is it with some Kopites, that they seem to think Blues have some form of affinity with United?

    Don't get it.

You can't love them that much - you gave them Fellaini.

Just reinforces my point. Lumbered them with Fellaini and took 'em to the cleaners at the same time. <ok>

The Grock appearing yesterday and then costing them the game with his first touch, was a thing of beauty tbh.

Balotelli was decided after a couple on months. You've written off Lovren and Moreno will never be seen in the same light as previous.

Karius has had games under him to show his worth and so far we've had nervous in the air, not a decent save at all in his time and a pass from a goal kick to a corner.

The look of astonishment on his face when it's called. :) He's either a bloody good actor or he genuinely doesn't realise that fouling people is against the rules of the game.
I don't know what Maureen was thinking really. You bring Fellaini on if you need someone to cause havoc and disrupt another team's rhythm - not to shore up a defence for the last few minutes. Yes, he's big and strong and wins stuff in the air, but he's always liable to do what he did do. Clumsy get.

Had this convo in the pub with a couple of mates who are blueshites yesterday(the rest of us are reds), before our game kicked off they said they hoped we got beat, we said we hoped the blues battered Man Yoo later on.
The argument something along the lines of.... "When we play man yoo who would you lads like to win?".... the blueshite's said " man yoo all day long la ", at which time we called them " closet mancs", "traitors to the city" etc.

But every Sunday afternoon seems like Groundhog Day because the same old arguments and bullshit gets aired by both sets of lads.

This is the point. Mignolet can be pretty good one minute then dodgy the next. So far, Karius' best has been bang average. I've read it said that he was ok in a couple of games prior to this, but that's only because he's had nothing to do.

Yeah, you can't say hes been ok but had nothing to do haha.

He only had one save to make against Watford and they scored from it. West Brom he was all over the place on set pieces. Luckily our defense has been solid enough and has helped him out.

De Gea constantly saves for Man u and wins them matches, Karius has yet to do so.

Last season though he must of won them plenty of points. Same with Lloris.

    Great keepers win you titles.

Dave was the single most important factor in them getting so high last season.
It's not quite worked for them so far in this.

Karius was voted the 2nd best keeper in the Bundesliga last season, he was never going to be the best with Neuer there was he. You don't go from that to carp overnight. He needs time. Yes he should be able to stop a shot whether he's playing here, in Germany or Japan but it's not just about stopping the shots it's him getting his confidence - he doesn't know his teammates yet nor the league nor the style of play expected.

That would be a lot to ask...:bandit:

Seriously, most of the problems that really good GKs had when acclimatising to the premiership have revolved around decision making like coming out for corners, being bullied by strikers or big centre halves, distribution. Not really basic goal keeping skills like stopping shots. I don't recall people like Lloris, Cech, DG, courtois, having such problems.

I don't think there's any such thing as a versatile goalkeeper, they either fit your style or they don't. Klopp has obviously gone for Karius because he finds him more suited to the style he wants to play. When BR signed Mignolet he was a good defensive goalkeeper who faltered when he tried to change him to a sweeper keeper. Early days yet for Karius. I'm not too impressed so far but give him time and I'm sure it will pay off.

Leicester won the league last year and now fighting relegation.
Vardy scored 12 times in a row. Hasn't scored in the league in 16 matches
Mahrez was player of the year last season. Terrible this season.

It's quite easy to become crap over night.

I don't think most of the loss yesterday can be placed at the feet of the CB's. Granted Lovren went missing when they got the 2nd goal and Lucas was diving into tackles (missing them) but they were left exposed by a midfield that didn't want to put a tackle in. Henderson played the whole 2nd half on egg shells and the other two were too high up for a 3-1 lead. The problem is still a proper DM, something we've not had since Masca.
Either Henderson should have come off or when Mane went off with the knock Klavan should have come on and pushed Lucas up into the DM.
Bmouth were using direct runners to attack us and CB's hate that, which is why a DM is essential to stop that.
