I commented this on the transfer thread

Look back at swansea game away. Swansea absolutely trashed us but had both CMS booked. they were leading 1-0 and the only reason we got back into it is we could run through thier midfield once they were booked. britton was hauled off for ki to stop him getting sent off

As i said yesterday Klopp ignoted the fact that frasier was running through henderson after our man was booked. Can was not booked til 87mins. We made no tactical changes to account for the booking Henderson was on and he never put a foot in after it.

I lay the balme squarely at henderson, can and klopp's feet... though i felt orgii and firmino didn't exactly keep playing for us.

I have made said case unitl klopp said karius is no 1.

now i can say.. I told him so... he's made his bed.

I can say hand on heart whatever esle mingolet is he never palms shots out like that and that last goal would not have happened IMO with mingolet.

Karius videos i watched when signed he did exactly the same... am i shocked? no. has it been coming? yes.

I was hoping at 3-1 Klopp would have bought Klavan on, moved Lucas to CM along side Hendo and taken Can off..
And gone from an open 4-3-3 to a more solid 4-2-3-1.. at 3-1 there was no need to chase the game!
The result yesterday isn't just food for thought for our players but Klopp too!

I would have actually taken off mane when he went down and put on kalvan as you described. it would have been quite negative though.

I agree. we needed that 4-2-3-1 switch. I'd have gone for two subs but not taken can off. He should have been stuck in there in the 2 and told not to move forward.

We should have won this handy.

the lesson here is clearly if you've a yellow you can't be in the screen or you have to be brave enough to keep tackling. henderson should have been taken off if he thought any foul was a second yellow and off.

We capitulated in the worst way possible. It can happen. We move on and hopefully learn from it......hope Matip is back soon though! <ok>

Its not down to matip cos we were easy 2-0 and 3-1 up. its a team failure including klopp.

Matip is a very good player but if our midfield implode due to bookings and direct running we need to resolve it immediately. If i had klopp's number i'd tell him very simply what went wrong. I thought his press conference was excellent right up until he said we stopped playing.

We kept the same system and some guys up front stopped running but we needed to change and did not and i detect a lets keep doing the same thing guys mentality from him. he rarely changes this on pitch. he is more about preparing and keeping to the plan.

I don't disagree <ok> I wish we'd simply gone more defensive at 3-1 up. We'd had the scare of conceding...time to shut up shop! Matip brings a calming influence....without him, we are not top four material at all.....however, whether he would have made up for a missing midfield is indeed questionable.

all i can say is the buzzer didn't beep in the ref's ear.

IMO you will never see a closer one. It looked a clear goal in the replays live.

Its not just defensive, its more controlling than defensive. Henderson could have moved to box to box and can sitting just for example as a simple swithc and i think we'd have won.

We let a guy who'd not a good player, quite inconsistent but good at running at teams run at a guy who was scared to tackle

We also missed two clearances for two goals and dropped the final goal in fonrt of a forward.

all 3 goals were scandalous failures to simply clear. henderson was atrocious on goal 2. origi pathetic on goal 3. the opportunity to clear missed both times. karius was pathetic on goal 4.

matip could have been standing watching all those goals.

    Exactly what I said yesterday.

We need to be pragmatic sometimes. It is about making sure we get the points when the tide is turning. When we are 2-0 or 3-1 up, then 3-2 with less than 15 minuites to go, the manager should say to his team: "let's protect what we've got. Switch to mass defending if we have to".

It was also a lack of respect for Bournemouth IMO. If we had been up 3-1 up against Chelsea or Arsenal, we would have had no hesitation in defending that lead.

Had stuff to do straight after game & didn't get home till 1.30 so my hungover comments are
    a) is Matip now our most important player as for the first time since he came in to the team our defence just descended into panic when the pressure came on
    b) once again our lack of game management was both blatant and costly
    c) I didn't agree with the dropping of Mignolet at the time and having seen Karius play a number of games it makes even less sense
    d) Worrying signs that already some players are feeling the strain of the intensity required to play the way Klopp wants
    e) Prosecco followed by 2 bottles of Rioja washed down with a couple of tumblers of brandy leaves one feeling a tad fragile

    a) don't agree all 11 are important. he's very very good though
    b) yes
    c) agree
    d) don't agree. its all been knocks. mane got a bang, firmino got a bang, coutinho got a kick. not sure on matip but its a long standing known issue. impact injuries are happening.
    e) i could only conclude that you may need to have a lie down.

Carragher said it perfectly after the match. A team can't perfectly defend for 90 minutes in a match, shots will come at the keeper and thats when you need him the most. Karius is the main error in this match, two shots have to be saved its simple as that. You don't expect a keeper to save a pen and the Cook goal was great but other two have to be saved.

Karius has only had two matches where he has been tested, Palace and now Bournemouth, and have failed miserably. Whats the point in a keeper having who can pass a ball out (which he isn't actually great at) if he can't save simple shots? It's like Bravo for City, his shot stopping is dreadful.

I would've taken Joe Hart when available. Keepers job is to save and win games from there, you wont win a football match with a keeper making 100% pass completion.

And another reason why Lallana can never be trusted is that second half in which he came on. For his age and the fact he has been a captain at a previous club, yet again goes missing when we need the game settled. When it went to 3-2 we need Lallana, Henderson, Lovren and Lucas to show a steady head and calm it down which never was done.

It's annoying that we went from 1 point from the top to now 4 with Spurs winning on the weekend but fair play to Bournemouth.
