I don't regard progress season upon season as mediocrity. A team always fighting at the top, trying to beat or match the very best. These are commendable traits. A brand new 75k seater stadium. A team full of young talent, last year's golden boot winner finding his feet again....wanting more then more...then more...this is football...that should be the aim. If winning a league makes me lazy and content then I'd rather not.

What you are saying is if you don't win a trophy then you are mediocre.

You have to strive to win. Take Spurs in the CL, what's the point getting in it to perform like that? To the vast majority of football fans it is about the ups and downs which come hand in hand. I would prefer a 3 season period where we win the league, get relegated and win the championship over doing nothing in the prem for 3 years. It's just opinions born from different backgrounds we've all had in football, it doesn't make any of it right or wrong, it's what forums are for to debate. I'm obviously hoping very much that our players pull their fingers out and we don't go down. The constant progression point is right but we skipped so many stages last year so it was always going to be difficult know where to go next. I was/am hoping for Europe again next season as progression but the FA cup is looking like the only realistic route at the minute

To be fair, as a Saints fan. If I was offerred a league title but we'd go down the following year I'd snap your ****ing hand off.

At the end of the day the PL generally comes and goes for teams like us. May as well win something while you're there.

I don't think they will go down though.

Absolutely John, they ****ed me off, I'd rather not be in it....and I hope we don't get into the Europa...and **** Wembley, rather play in a 25,000 stadium that has some soul.

I agree about perspectives....but for me I wouldn't be happy....it's not jealousy or any of that.

Good luck in the CL John.

No need John, I get what you mean. Fair enough..I suppose I do believe for Spurs I wouldn't be content. Call me deluded but that's not it. We have been PL ever presents. We pay 30 mill for players. We spend money and have always wanted more...if we won the league...I wouldn't be happy ever after. we used to want Europe, then we wanted top 4, CL, then we want the league. I see the progress and being content with where we are as a fan base and club would scupper any hopes of ever reaching that next level.

I think the ever presents is a good point, it's a proud record of very few and I suspect for Villa for example, it might have even hurt them more they left that group than the relegation itself as like I said before, promotion and relegation comes and goes and they'll be back. We've always been a yo yo side and so relegation is part of the journey we've been used to. I'd like regular runs in Europe (even the Europa league) and domestic cup success. I'm really hoping we don't draw your no hopers again in tonight's draw ;)

    Duh!

Spurs did strive, but simply didn't have the strength in depth to compete, this season, in both the CL and the Prem. For us, the breaking point has been the CL, although our Prem progress was stunted, too, with far too many draws, and that loss to Chelsea.

So has LCFC suffered, you can't see it yet, but you are heading for a massive dry-humping in the CL knock-out stages. Then, what are you going to be left with? The memory of a massive dry-humping in the CL and a relegation battle, ending in the most humiliating defence of a title ever witnessed in the Prem!

Well done, LCFC! You did England proud.

Guess that sums up life as a Spud .... would much rather be forever in the shadow of Arsenal than have one day in the sun ... that's your reality <laugh>

I've spent a lifetime following my team through thick and thin, yo-yoing between the top two divisions and even a brief stint in the third tier. I'll happily take being relegated (which won't happen by the way - care to have a little wager?) .... for the excitement and ACHIEVEMENT of last season (it will always be in the record books).... you can keep finishing 5th and 6th in the prem ... in terms of cock measuring - which you mention quite a lot - I'm more than happy with the permanent hard-on that title win will give Leicester fans for a long, long time ... you carry on enjoying looking up at your Gooner brudda with the 'bigger one' ... <laugh>

I believe I was talking Spurlock but trust you to chip in... Can't you bear to see us having a genuine football debate without having to try and start an arguement?

Fosse, someone posted the question as to whether there's a link between HAIG and Kevvy as both seem interested in child offences. It could explain it if that's where HAIG logs in to get all his bad spelling, grammar and general English language out!
