I'll go further (without meaning to be hysterical) and say that I really can't see how he's an improvement on Brad Jones. But let's be clear about this, Lovren is a mediocre CB who's improved from dire under Klopp, but unless he stands next Matip he's nothing special on most occasions. Lucas can stand in against Championship teams in cup ties, but even then he can't deal with high, direct, bouncing balls. Clyne is a proper full back, but he was as guilty of getting lost in those last 20 minutes as anyone. Milner has done great, but so did Can a couple of years ago standing in at LCB in a back three - until he got found out. And Hendo and Can are not DM's and may as well not be there for set pieces.

    I could go on...

I'm still very hopeful of top four, even without Ford, but let all the delusions stop - we're not winning any league with that defence. Even the 2014 team looked solid with Skrtel and Sakho compared to this shambles. And without Matip it's barely Championship standard.

I have to say Klopp is a breath of fresh air in todays false world of football. He calls it exactly how he see's it like an honest person, I don't know how good he is as a manager/coach but he is restoring my faith in humanity. I know of no other teams leader that would have lost in the manner that Liverpool did today and praise the opposition for doing well. My hat goes off to you sir.

Every man on that pitch in a Liverpool shirt was to blame for that, no good trying to find the usual scapegoats. We stopped pressing when we lost possession and didn't keep the ball well when we had it.
Karius getting stick on social media even from Carra but they are wrong IMO the Bournemouth player was allowed all the time in the world to smash that as hard as he could and a lot of keepers would have spilled it, if only someone had closed the player down it may have been different.

Agreed - my theory is that the team is better defensively but the back line is still shaky - because the team is providing more protection. Once the forwards and midfielders ran out of juice, the defence was exposed and they were shown up.

If we had kept pressing and worked hard we'd have retained the ball more and our defence would not be exposed.

I'm not saying it's nothing to do with the keeper of bad defending as it is, my main point is that we stopped playing to a man so one group of players or a single player should not be singled out here.

The overreaction then is a joke, (not here but on other social media) there are too many fair weather fans who are going nuts and calling for Karius to be dropped, have a bit of faith y'****s. We're 4 points off top 3rd in the league in a cup semi final and having a good season so far.

True about allowing him the shot (and I said so at the time), but he shouldn't have fumbled it. Also, there was four or five defenders (especially Hendo) who stood and watched as he did so. No matter how you dress it up, that goalie is pretty hapless at doing basic stuff, but our defence, especially without Matip, is just not fit for purpose. Palace nearly did this a few weeks ago, and we we're hanging on for dear life against west Brom too, after we should have got the same score as against Hull and watford. And that's just it - unless we get a three goal lead we don't look solid enough to hold on.

But Karius is turdsville, there's no polishing that.

Oh dear... for 75 odd minute's we were pretty good..
Then it all went to ****e, combination of us bottling it and Bournemouth playing well.
    Fair play to them!
Hopefully have a Matip back next week, Mane looks OK and hopefully Lallana can start on Sunday.
Not the end of the world, we're in 3rd position 4pts off top, realistically we all would have been over the moon if we secured top 4 at the start of the season and we're still in a strong position to do so.
Another +tive to come from yesterday is Klopp will have found out a bit more about his players, who can and can't keep their heads and if he needs to strengthen.
Also, he may need to review his own performance, when 3-1 up, with only 15mins to go, maybe he need to manage the game better and shut up shop..
Anyway, I'm still happy with the start to the season we've made, all teams suffer a blip or two!

We're having a great season so far. Much more so than I expected.

Unfortunately, our squad depth means injuries will always hit us hard. We played with only two recognised defenders yesterday and once Mane left the field, we we had no pace at all around the pitch.

Our first eleven would have put that game to bed easily but it's all about the squad. Am hoping that we can keep the points flowing until January because we badly need cover, especially with Mane going to play in Africa.

Am unsure on Karius but What happened to De Gea should prove that you have to allow young keepers a bedding in period. We are 3 players short of ensuring we get top four IMO. That or we get lucky with injuries for remainder of the season which is quite possible. That's not being negative....just realistic.

At 3-2, I posted that I wished that we knew how to kill a game off. it was frightening how easy it was to run through our midfield and defence yesterday.

I Do find the focus on Karius very amusing - he was improving over the past few games but had a mare yesterday. I just don't understand why there is little coverage on the dog **** defence who are supposedly experienced players.

I'm not sure if Carra said anything about the defence but he was quick to pick up on the keeper. That's not to say that it's all down to the defence - the midfield let them down but it highlights just how well they have been protected over the past few games. Any sign of pressure and the defence crumbles. The midfield crumbles.

Whilst players like Henderson have improved (and I do think he's done well), it's alarming how he struggles each time he's pressed. Can and Gini went missing as well. Completely overran.
