Any thoughts on this? Happy, sad, indifferent? I know nothing about Italian politics so was hoping you could enlighten me.

Scrap my earlier question. Reading a little on it suggests it was pretty irrelevant. The Austrian election result is far more newsworthy and positive.

You surely don't expect anything more than just a question in response?...

I'm going to Paris for NYE so good news on the Euro.

Italy's referendum had little to do with the EU from what I've read. No doubt it's been reported that way in the Mail.

    I will attempt to translate....

Kustard seems to believe that this rejection of Renzi's power grab is somehow a harbinger of Italy's departure from both the Euro, and the EU.

This is not only premature, but fanciful in the extreme.

    Quick to the safe space..

A feeble attempt at humour, suggesting that those of us who voted remain should head for our basements or garden sheds?....

    I can't either
But if the anti-democrat alliance don't support the triggering of article 50 then they will be wiped out at a general election

The popular parties in Italy at the moment all want out of the EU, they are the ones who pushed for a no vote.

Thats even in the Guardian, educate yourself little, than stop acting like billy big balls and berating others <ok>
