I would still buy another CB in Jan if we sell Fonte though. Keane from Burnley would be my first choice.

 

We play Fonte regularly....can't see us letting him go in January. Puel wouldn't want to play Maya in every match and players do get injured.

I'd be awfully wary about selling Fonte in January unless we have a very good CB lined up. Our defense is the only thing keeping us afloat at the moment; it would be quite a gamble to promote Yoshida and rely on Stephens/Gardos as our third CB.

 

That'll have to wait until the summer though, if they go down. Explains our cunning defeats v Hull and Palace.

 

Why not, Virgil plays most games.

To me it is somewhat telling Fonte hasn't played in Europa, and I wondered if it was due to him throwing toys from prams in the summer.

Yep, I was thinking push him on for £10m, as long as Les doesn't return with Phil Jones. I think I'd rather he came back with Aled...

 

I come on this thread hoping to hear some nice talk about a 20+ goal a year striker we're looking at and all I read is sell fonte.

I'd hoped the rumours had died down at the end of the window. Surely we won't do business in January unless there is serious money or serious bargains.
