That was me - I pointed out a while back that our course was remarkably similar to Villa's.

I hope the Americans do not take as long as Tan did realising that UK football needs horses for courses.

Tan took advise and brought Warnock in he might not get us up the league but he will die trying.

Your board needs to do the same sack your manager and get a hard man into his seat, Big Sam comes to mind but I'm sure there are others around.

I feel sure that the Swans can turn this around but something needs to be done and quick.

Honestly, I would rather get relegated than have Sam Allardyce at our club.
Although I'm not enjoying watching us at the moment, I hate everything about his style of play. It is very similar to Pardews Palace last week - get a free kick anywhere on the pitch and hoof it into the area. I hated watching Palace play last week - it was everything I'd never want my team to be.
A huge no from me when it comes to Allardyce.

I disagree Stereo, at the moment Allardyce is exactly the type of manager we need. Attractive football is for the time, hopefully in the future, when we are good enough to play attractive football.

And I haven't had a great deal of enjoyment since......
It's all about enjoyment for me. If I'm not enjoying it I switch off emotionally. Then it becomes just a game.

"..the type of manager we need ".... but that depends on what each of us consider our needs to be.
For me, the need is not necessarily to stay in the PL. I enjoyed being a winning team in the Championship. OK it's not the glamour of the PL, but just ask Newcastle fans if they are enjoying this season more than last.

You have it all wrong about Sam Allardyce. Some of the football we played last season, was the best I've seen at Sunderland for a long time.

This assumption that all his teams do is play hoof ball, is well wide of the mark. He's probably the only manager available at the moment that could pull you out of the ****e.

Ryan Giggs is just laughable. I wouldn't want him anywhere near my club.

Here's a question, did Bonys fee pay for the training facilities etc or MLs compensation?

As you say, it explains why we have no money.

The problem will that is the championship is a hard league to get out off, I you go down do you think you will keep your best players ?

Will you attract the players and manager you need ?

And I'll tell you Championship football is not as good as it was even 5 years ago, most teams play not to lose rather than looking for a win, you will see some real dour matches.

If we go down, as it stands, the only players we have that will cope in the championship are Gylfi, Fabianski, Leon, Routledge and Cork - and they will all leave or retire.

As for the rest, they're not good enough for the championship. As I've said previous, if we go down, it will require a bigger rebuilding job than should we survive this season.

I've noticed this, mind. I thought Newcastle would have a tough time down there. I've watched a few games though, and they have all been dull and lacked real quality. For all Newcastle are going to run away with the league, they are really poor!

Hull are the worst team in this league, and Newcastle laboured to a draw against them.

I think Swansea should be alright down there, the parachute payments, if spent well, should give them an excellent chance of at least making the playoffs.

They'll go straight into the Yanks back pockets. As will Gylfis transfer fee.

    " Laudrup's salary was £3 million".

If he received £14 million compensation that means he had almost FIVE years of his contract paid up.
Does anyone believe he was on such a lengthy contract, when the talk was that he was only going to stay for TWO years.
These figures don't stack up, and the article generally has serious flaws in it.
