This Bournemouth team are no mugs, but they have just been schooled on their own patch for that 1st half. That's got to be one of our best 45 mins. this season. 0-2.........not over by any means..............lets get the next goal aswell
Very happy with that first half. I think this is the season Origi comes of age and shows that he is no longer just "one for the future". Mane seems to dither on the ball a lot more than he used to, I think he is sometimes a bit like Sterling as in if he has to much time he messes up, but if he is being pressed and has to act instinctively he is much better. Funnily enough I had no beer open then said to my son, "get the beers and my LFC tankard" literally just poured the beer and we scored. Of course I am not taking all the credit as the players put a lot in on the training pitch, but I think I did my bit!
All players have ****e games, but if scoring a goal and hopefully means we get 3pts, long may it continue lol.
And Mane should have gone down when Ake put his hand on his shoulder - would have been a pen and a sending - off.
Good first half that. How Origi missed the sitter I'll never know, but made up for it with the 2nd. Absolutely dominant 10 min spell and thankfully we scored during that time to make it count. Lucas has been absolutely brilliant at the back. Not put a foot wrong. Nicked the ball in front of forward on about 3/4 occasions and passing has been good, kept it simple. Mane has been meh. Great run & finish for the goal, but when he gets on the ball he's got "Can syndrome" of taking too many touches and slowing things down. Penalty was 50/50. Contact was there, would have bene soft but couldn't have argued too much if ref had given it. Got away with that one.
If that had been us versus Utd i would have wanted the pen, so in fairness i am probably on the side of it was a pen and we have got away with one. However could point to loads where we have not had them awarded so.
I'll say again, look at the pen that wasn't given on Allen last year and what Smith said, and what's more ifs that the Stoke defender stuck his knee into Allen's, Ake jumped into Firmino's and was already off the ground when he jumped into Firmino.
Lucas has been excellent at reading the game and making telling tackles, just hope his energy levels can last as he tends to tire 75 minutes onward which is when he gives fouls away.
I thought was Mane was pretty good for most of the first half - attacked well and won the ball a lot of times but looked to have tired massively towards the end.
He's had a ****e month lol But yes, if he keeps working hard and gets the occasional goal that I won't be moaning

I bought carrots and apples for all the scabby gypsy ponies tethered in the field by us, got up early and fed them and then went the gym and had a lucky 8k run even though I was knackered, and I fixed my lucky glasses to watch the match with - and you're claiming credit for opening a beer? Pah.
