As i am stuck in the past in my outlook on the way todays game has lost its way in terms of cheating ,yesterdays spot kick awarded for a blatant dive by Ali highlights just the point about cheating, does anybody watch training sessions and wonder why healthy fit males seem to keel over and roll about with a scream with nobody in sight ,it must be practise for the most part, training must be like a monty python sketch .
    solution.......
Shaun Dyche feels while football gets into a moral tangle over certain high-profile, one-off incidents, this issue of repeated cheating is all too often overlooked.

In terms of policing it, he sympathises with referees and wants the system of retrospective punishment extended to cover blatant acts of simulation.

He said: 'It would evaporate out of the game within two, three or four weeks because managers who have some amazing players will say, 'We can't be losing you for three games'.

'I'd like to know the reason it hasn't been brought in, and if it is getting really looked at in depth.

It brings into question the standard of our referees IMO.
Delli kicks his leg out to make sure there was a nominal amount of contact and the ref bought it.
Yesterday Simpson twice yes twice kicked out the leg of PVA right in front of the ref and nothing was given.
Whilst we might not like the diving issue you can see why players are doing it when they gain an unfair advantage like Spurs got yesterday.
Its all well and good that tit Sutton on MOTD saying the award didn't effect the outcome as Swansea were so poor. Well Mr Sutton that poor Swansea side had frustrated Spurs just like we did at Liverpool, and who can tell which way the match would have gone.
Diving used to be levelled at foreign players but now it appears fully established England internationals have no compunction to cheat whenever they can.

You think the refereeing is poor in the PL (it is to be fair), you should see what it is like down in the Championship.

<laugh> I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Admittedly I missed the match when it was live but when I watched it back I was in utter disbelief. Oh well.

Perennial cheats should get harsher bans than that. Only way to stamp it out. I have sympathy for referees who have to deal with that crap. If I were them and Ali hit the ground I'd be inclined to give nothing. I'd even do a tv interview after the match explaining why!

Fully agree that we should be able to look back on simulation incidents after the game and hand out bans.

I agree that bans should be used for dives and that Alli dived yesterday.
Don't like to see that from our players and he needs to cut it out.

There's a disproportionate amount of coverage being given to that one incident, though.
Loads of other dives aren't touched, so why is there a whole section on MOTD about this one?
Meanwhile, they totally omitted this, which happened very early on:

What card did Taylor get? None. Nothing. Ridiculous.

In the mid-50s we were playing league leaders Wolves at Roker when they were given a penalty that mystified everybody but the referee. Billy Wright the England captain at the time, came forward and asked the ref something then shrugged his shoulders.

The penalty taker belted the ball over the bar which got a huge roar of applause. Shack and Billy Wright were stood on the centre spot as if they knew what was going to happen.

A nice case of players sticking together rather that what is going on today.
