I am not going start the doom and gloom postings here, however I do feel now we need to have a complete re-think about tactics and players. Our current 4-4-2 is not working so instead of keeping everything the same every game (Homer Simpson..ish), let's at least show some of that LCFC spirit and mix things up a bit! Our next 2 games would be a good time to try something a little different as the CL game nothing depends on it and the Man City game they will crush us if we stay the same. So come on CR (Boss) if you could mastermind us winning the Premier League last year. I am sure a change in tactics and players is not too much to ask. I don’t think we will ever know what’s gone wrong with that wonderful spirit we had last year were players would run through walls for each other but where ever we lost it I really hope someone hurries up and finds it. LCFC for ever!
We are the champions, everyone is on a big contract so no one has any motivation. I really wished we got someone ridiculously experience that we were linked with like Totti, Lampard or even Cambiasso again simply to show these players what a multiple champion looks like.
Either same formation with new personnel, i.e. Musa, Kaputska, Gray, Schlupp, Mendy (wish we still had Kramaric), or a new formation such as wing backs or 3-4-3. When I looked at the team yesterday and saw the same old faces i half expected us to lose. Whether it's the inflated wages or a sense of having achieved more than anyone ever expected which has led to a feeling of complacency or anti-climaxing I don't know, but we definitely need to try something new as what we're seeing so far isn't working.
Last season we had a team that was hungry and had something to prove, with no overpaid stars. Having won the league we have spent big money on Musa and Slimani as well as lavishing £100k per week on Vardy and Mahrez. Have those things improved the team? We need to go back to getting hungry players on the pitch. We are certainly in a relegation battle. We can't carry passengers and need everyone fighting to get to the ball first and push the opposition back. When you see a Bournemouth side, full of 'average' players (no disrespect intended there) all pulling together to outfight Liverpool, and you compare that to the current strollers going through the motions in that Leicester side on Saturday then it's easy to see why we are where we are.
Not too worried yet ... and here's why: If you think back to the summer I for one was quite surprised at our pursuit of Michael Keane ... the intensitty of it. I now think Claudio had already identified that his central pairing had been on a Halcyon season and would need some 'help' at the very leaset - expect to see a cntre-back come in next month. replacing Kante was always going to be a big ask - but if we get Ndidi we may have goytourselves another gem and Mendy must also be close to a return. Simpson took a knock at the weekend and that might well enforce a change formation wise which hopefully will address how we are currently getting overrun in midfield One bright spark has been Demarai Gray ... would like to see him given a run against the Man City full-backs Indeed I would like to see us switch to a back 5 for this and try this line up Zieger Gray - Huthe- Fuchs- Morgan-Schlupp Mendy (if fit) King Mahrez Slimani Vardy
Hamer was shocking in the Championship - what makes you think he is better then someone that made the German national team?
Alot of players not doing enough to keep their spot, don't know whether we need to refresh the formation or just the starting 11.
