Its all about having a decent bit of banter without it getting out of hand, I have been lucky enough to chat to some great Newcastle fans on the 606 and its always been banter and nothing else. If you try to control it too much it will get much worse IMO as we will be banning tit for tat. As long as no one gets voilent or really nasty I dont see a problem with it. The great thing about these boards is the ability to do one simple thing if you dont like the way the thread is going CLOSE it and move on to another one. There will always be banter thats what make these type of boards such a great place to chat. 50% of my mates are Mags and the banter we have when out is cracking and not once has it ever turned voilent although we have rasied our voices from time to time all that it is ..is banter and nowt else thank god I can take it as I like to dish it out from time to time hehe....think some people need to chill their beef lol

I refuse to call Jose Lorca a moderator, so they need one. :p However, I meant a second for the Newcastle board to cover whenever Leazes isn't around.

I'm definitely up for moderating this board. I usually end up procrastinating a lot so am on here every day. I also enjoy a lot or the banter and would only intervene when there's a mutual feeling that someone has stepped out of line!

There is always going to be trouble when you have I sit next to a badger as a mod...I've just checked his profile and he seems to think that his home town of Cramlington is in Newcastle...I mean, how thick can you get...<doh>

How sad can you get? Cramlington, yes is in Northumberland, but for the sake of football and if someone on some other board was wondering where I was from, its easier to say Newcastle. What a sad twat.

If we do select a second mod we should find out when Leazes is normally online and nominate someone who is online outside of those hours. So if he's never here on evenings, pick a nightowl, or vice versa. Gives us around the clock cover in case anything kicks off.

Some people on here are a joke mate. Where is the written rule that says you have to live right outside SJP to be a 'true' fan? I live in Cambridgeshire and have supported the toon my whole life (through all of the lows of relegation, ridiculous manager sackings e.t.c.) So... according to MrAWhite, I'm not a 'true' fan?

I mean, I'm hardly a glory hunter considering the team I support. I travel to a few games each season depending on when I can find the time/money and I watch almost every game on the internet and at the pub.

I was speaking to Leazes about this earlier as I'm usually at home whilst he's away on match days. We could definitely do with an extra moderator as this forum is getting really busy now! I'd love to do the job, especially as I end up procrastinating a lot and scanning through the forum at like 2 in the morning haha.

I'd vote for Guitteriez Right Boot or OT myself personally, no offence Son of a Pitch but we should really have someone a bit older since we already have a younger mod, Sunderland's board seems to run well as their mod is Syd and he's old & wise enough to know when someone is having him/others on and when they're just being idiots. Think a slightly older moderator and Leazes could be the dreamteam to moderating perfection, but that Leazes is doing a decent job so far (considering it's his first week) & will only improve with experience. <ok>

Fair point mate, I suppose I would be the second 19 year old student to moderate our board haha. Although I like to think I have quite a mature head screwed on... hopefully that shows in the way I articulate my posts.

How about we realize this is a forum. >90% of the worlds forums are used for "winding others up". In other words, trolling.

Get over it, insult them back, move on. You'll still have community discussion on your favorite club, you'll just recognize a troll-comment when you see one

Again it's not like it's anything against you or even to do with how mature you are, it's just if anything goes awry, you've seen how the Mackems reacted to Leazes and it would just be another stick to beat us with!
I'd put my name forward last time round and I'd do it again, but I do believe we should have someone just a bit older than us both as that way if something does go OTT and needs locking, they won't be able to play the Maggie kids can dish it out on our board, but can't take a joke themselves card.
Leazes is doing a cracking job considering how busy the forum is so far, although like I said in another thread I think he should post a warning or a reason for why he's taking it off and then lock the thread (rather than deleting it) that way everyone can see why and if the person was being a dick (beyond banter) the evidence will be there and they won't have a leg to stand on, or likewise if people think it was alright, he can always reopen it <ok>
You can't please all of the people all of the time though and someone will whinge regardless of how good a job someone is doing!

When deleting a comment or article, the person gets a reason why. Cummins was warned of his future conduct, I warned him he had two more daft comments before being reported, then one more, he had his warnings and chose to ignore them, I was fully within my rights, something the mackems don't think I was entitled to, being a moderator etc...

Wouldn't it be interesting if they introduced sound to 606.
