Aguerl and KDB both had 1v1 chances before that as well. On another day City could and would have been 3-0
before you got a decent chance.

Certainly seemed like tou you missed Matic doing the dirty covering work and shielding that back 3.

yeah, Fabregas offers zero defensive ability.
We were lucky City had a **** day in front of goal.

Defoe is such a quality player inside 18 yard box. Should never have gone to MLS and he should be at a better club than Sunderland.

Not Christmas yet Bobby - don't get carried away! Much rather you carried the burden of 'The Team To Beat' anyway. Btw, does Faberagas face retrospective action for slapping Fernandhino, do you know?

Yeah i know, might get egg on my face... probably will but thought i'd take advantage whilst i can (plus i'm dangling some bait for astro).

As for fabregas facing retrospective action, as great as his passing is (that ball for costa), if it stops Conte sticking him in a 2 man midfield i'm all for it. Part of the reason why we looked so shocking, you cannot have a left hand side of the field containing alonso, cahill hazard and fabregas.

I'll say it again, by luck or design Conte has hit upon a formula that has freed Hazard, and that inturn seems to have invigorated Costa. yes, this isn't a John Terry defence, but you're scoring as many as goals as that totally underrated (by Roman) Ancelotti team. Like us, your defence will eventually lose you games - like us, your attack should win you more games (even ones you don't 'deserve' to win) than your defence loses.

Think you'll find our defence is why we have been so good recently. Discounting todays game where City missed a lot of chances and went through us, we haven't actually been giving away any decent chances. We kept 6 clean sheets in a row, you don't do that without a decent defence

We have been great going forward as well. We are pretty direct and with alonso and moses, we have some real width and they pretty much bomb forward at any opportunity so we always have plenty of men forward in those transitional counter attacking moments.

And you do have a decent keeper too.

he's decent and he made 1 or 2 big saves today (cahill also blocked one, kdb missed an absolute sitter) but he hasn't had to face many shots to be fair.

Aye other than today, with Matic missing, our defense has been solid for months.

Only saw the highlights of today's game as I was in work, but I thought Spurs tore you wide open on several occasions last week without getting their deserved rewards. But yeah, I take your point. I wish Soton had tried to play against us like they did against you though - we really struggle still against the Sunderlands, West broms, Sotons and Man U's.

What we need to do is stop turning up for matches in 45 minutes in.
Twice now we have had dodgy first halves, against good opposition, and have been lucky to only go 1-0 down. That much I will agree with.
We need to start from the kick off.

Does it make you feel off color? :p
I apologize, but I just wanted to add a trans-atlantic flavor to my dialog.
    Where's your sense of humor?

Going to have to disagree bod. Of the past 8 games, we have had a dodgy first half in the last 2 matches and arguably the boro match. Every othet game i remember us going 1 goal up in first 20 mins and building up steam. (Leicester united, southampton)

Thats what I said, in the last 2 games it has happened, am hoping it doesn't become a habit.

2 games is hardly a pattern to not turning up in matches imo. To be honest i thought first half we did okay. There wasnt any clear chances for either side (only agueros one that hit dave, hazard bottling the open goal) and it was a fairly scrappy 1st half. 2nd half opened up and we were outplayed technically

Not saying it's a pattern, I was simply saying, its happened twice in a row and I am hoping it doesn't become a pattern
