Yes but remember Pav was a cover striker, he didn't start many of his games. 10 goals and 4 assists in 28 apps in the PL i believe, plus 4 goals in Europe/cups.

If he started for us regularly for a season i reckon he'd get around 15 goals.

And what do you mean "only four assists", that's not a bad total for a striker mate, especially ones that wasn't a regular starter.

 

Just on a completely unrelated and definitely non homosexual note, I wouldn't kick the lad out of bed either

 

28 games is pretty regular. If you're trying to sell him as a striker who can be creative, that isnt an impressive stat.

I'm not saying we should buy him for his creative abilities, i was just pointing out that stat which shows he can create chances. I'd buy him for his goal scoring ability.

Also he could still be heavily involved in a build up without getting the actual assist, however I wouldn't know because I have only seen him play a handful of times.

 

I know but he's primarily a target man and you said we could use him as a creative striker, which isnt the case. He played a decent number of games last season and I'd happily have him here, even for 10 mil. But dont talk him up as something he's not, I mean Williamson got about 3 assists last season, it can be a misleading stat.

 

He is better than what we've already got, end of. We won't sign him though! Probably won't sign any strikers.

 

Would be nice to think that a combination of Ba, Pav and Best could stay fit for the majority of the season and keep Strolla and Lovenshit away from the starting lineup wouldn't it?

 

He doesn't have to be used as a target man though! He's good in the air. What's important is that he's not a slow, he's got decent pace, ball control and agility.

By the way, assists aren't the only way to show you're creative. Tiote is creative but he only got 1 assists last season.

I say he's creative because he is. Williamson started around 30 games last season, and 2 of his assists were vs Villa in the 6-0 win. Most of Pav's games were sub appearances. He only got 4 assists, but i've seen him create chances, and if other players don't take them, it's not his fault.

Barton got 9 assists last season, but we know he contributed far more than that because most of his deliveries hit Carroll or Shola 2nd last before being knocked in.

Pav can pass the ball quite well, and isn't clumbsy or slow.

I'm not saying he's like Rooney or Anelka getting 12+ assists a season whilst being a striker and he'll be in the double figures for both goals and assists next season, but he can score and also aid his partner or the rest of the team also. His useful for more than just goals.

 

How is Tiote creative?

Hes a fantastic defensive midfielder and thats his game, hold the midfield, make the right challenges and distribute the ball simply to the more creative members of the team.

Tiote is not a creative player.

I can see us spending 10 mil for him, if they throw in Spurs season tickets for Ashley.

 

Good to see if we are prepared to spend £10m on one striker, although I'd prefer it was someone else. I don't think Pavluychenko's **** but I'd prefer to get someone else who's a bit younger.
