I think they should be okay, there's the extra day rest becuase we're on Saturday rather than Sunday this weekend.
Unlike other weeks we have an extra day of rest for this game. I know it's not much but we can't forget that this league is very tight at the moment.
We do have one extra day to rest. But I think the toll playing the Wednesday before is more taxing than having just one more day. Time will tell.
The next game isn't till Thursday evening. This is an important game. Have to take each game at a time...won't be too smart if we risk this one and then lose Thursday any way. Glad we've gone strong for this one.
Very interesting stat on Solent just now.... Saints have put more crosses into the box that anyone else in the league Saints have scored 0 headers in the league this season
El Clasico is on at the same time as the 3pm kick offs. Don't let me down Saints, Palace. I'm expecting the same level of quality.
That's the thing though, compared to Thursday this really isn't that important. I mentioned before that if we lose the odd silly game like Palace then we may end up finishing 12th rather than 8th - which doesn't really effect anybody that much. Whereas if we lose Thursday we miss out on potentially the biggest moment in the history of Southampton football club.
Looking at our fixtures, the Xmas period (I'll include today as that now) is a great opportunity to define our season. Other than Spurs, we don't play any of the really big boys in the league until Arsenal at the end of February. Fingers crossed today will be the start of a decent run.
Strong looking Saints team, Fonte to score from a corner just to put that curse to rest. A N Other to get a second, I don't care who. Oh, and a clean sheet.
Manager picks a weakened team. Fans question it. Manager picked a strong team. Fans question it. Who'd be a manager, eh?
