Why is everyone praising him for quitting?

Well done he won the World Championship but in reality it only ever was a race between two people as to who would win. I love motor racing and he obviously has to be good to be where he is, ie at M Benz but it's hardly a level playing field for all competitors and makes the PL look extremely competitive when 3 or 4 teams might win it in comparison to him or Hamilton.

And why is it a "brave" decision as some are saying? Kids today...

Just think think how much praise you would get foe being brave enough to step down from the one horse race known as the headline game. It would be the single most honourable, unselfish and brave thing I could ever imagine - but only someone truly as brave, honourable and selfless as you are could even contemplate that.

    Because Hamilton is a knob

Hopefully they give the car to crazy max and he erases Hamilton

He's certainly not gone up in my estimation because of this decision. I think he knows Hamilton would usually beat him over a season if they had the same reliability on their cars and he doesn't have the stomach for the fight or playing second fiddle.

I'm sticking £20 on Max to win next year as he will be Hamilton's team mate

Unless there is a fundamental change in cars next year, I think it can be safely assumed that next years winner will be Mercedes.

The driver of the car will be irrelevant.

I don't see how when he's contracted to Red Bull. I can imagine a young lesser-known driver getting the seat for a year and maybe someone with a higher status coming in the year after. Vettel is out of contract at the end of next season. There's also the issue of the other teams maybe catching Mercedes up next season with big changes in regulations. You'd be better advised to put your money on Lewis.

If you know their backgrounds then the silver spoon comment would be the other way round.

True, I have contemplated doing just that but then the Public just keep crying out for me and I can't disappoint them.

I don't think they were skid row but he certainly lucky that he had a dad who was in to motorsport and was willing to work multiple jobs to give him a chance. Rosberg was born into a rich family and had doors opened for him at every opportunity by his F1 world champion father.

Doesn't smack to me of courage this - just a realist who appreciates that what was driving him on has now gone and no point continuing in a sport which is inherently dangerous. Or maybe his Mrs has told him to stop playing with the car and concentrate on the family.

Formula 1 is making wholesale changes for next year and it's going to be a great deal closer.

Rosberg knows that he will never beat Hamilton again and has quit at just 31 years young.

Tyson Fury reached the pinnacle of Boxing and quit and now Nico Rosberg has done the same thing in F1.

The only way is down when you're at the top.

The only reason NR is labelled 'Champion', is because of the engine failure in Malaysia of Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes-Benz.

Respect. He just wanted to win it 1. Now he's going off to have fun with the models.

I mean..why risk your life? Look how Schumacher ended? Tempted fate one too many times. If I was Rosberg I'd now sit in the backseat of an armored range rover from now on.
