Had to go into Halfords today to buy some wiper blades for my car, and there it was being played over the speakers, that ****ing abomination of a song by Slade. I consider that to be a grievous assault on the ears. If any shop is playing that song when I next go into their establishment, I am nicking stuff from it out of principle. And if anybody dare post it on this thread then you can consider yourself a **** of the highest order. What's your worst Christmas song ? Get it off your chest and rant here.
I love Christmas, I just ****ing hate the unquestioning regurgitation of banal christmas songs that get wheeled out every year. Some people, probably quite rightly, complain about noise pollution from aircraft, traffic, roadworks etc, but no **** ever thinks to question that the worst kind of noise pollution actually comes from those annoying fuzzy faced ****ing ****s called Slade, who peddled their vacuous ****e passed off as music over 30 years ago, and the utter **** they produced is still polluting the air waves even in 2016 !
Never mind the worst, what about the best? I haven't heard Jona Lewie yet, cracking tune. Time to dust down the Now That's What I Call Christmas CD I think. Slade is on it.
I like the original Band Aid song. Probably because I am of an age that the whole Band Aid / Live Aid campaign was a big thing.
Fairy tale of New York and the one Chief posted are the only 2 I like. The rest are massively ****. Although there are some pretty good Reggae Christmas tunes.
