Given the mass of threads which mention Grayson should be sacked/stay/resign and speculation about when/whether Gradel will re-sign and can Brown stay on the pitch for 90 mins, how about a different kind of prediction? How about; How many FL (only, to make it simpler) games before: Grayson is sacked or walks (0 means he won't be) Gradel re-signs (0 means he doesn't) Brown gets a red card. Paynter scores a goal. Any others? For the bonus point, for the first one, what is the tipping point that will decide things?
Grayson - 0 Gradel - 23 Brown - 15 Paynter - 1 I predict that at some point before the end of the season Gradel will get so angry with a refereeing decision his head will literally explode.
I think Gradel's frustration is borne out of not being offered a new contract more than not getting the penalty.
Can't remember where, but it was in an article about how we would offer Gradel a contract soon, saying that while we hadn't yet offered him a deal his agents had let us know his demands and they're no where near what we're willing to pay (rumoured to be around the £25k mark).
Especially as Becchio and Snoddy are on less than half that. FFS it's more than Beckford makes at Everton.
Obviously £25k a week is too much. But it stinks of Bates standard attitude that there's been no effort to negotiate and bring that figure down to something that makes both parties happy.
How much would you seriously pay for gradel though. I would probably pay 11k a week seeings thats what snoddy gets and graqdel has only had one good season If you were a car sales man and you were selling a car for say 30k and someone came in and offered 13k. What would you say??
I'd offer Gradel 16k a week. But I'd want to offer Snodgrass the same when his contract renewal came up.
so your already paying 250k extra on snoddy and paying at least 400k year extra on gradel (thats obviously without there current deals as well) becuase gradel is asking for a ridiculous sum of cash. Thought he wanted to play for leeds for the long term not hit an early retirement. He has had one good season, not guaranteed to have another, that may have been the best season of his life, often happens at the age of 23. He doesnt show the skill and ability to have another season like he did. Not being funny i do honestly believe thatg technically he is one of the worse choices for the winger position. Often makes the wrong decisions as well. He makes up for it however with his goalscoring and that bit of brilliance on occasion. He is not worth as much as snoddy i dont think or becchio or howson but thats how much i would offer him if i was grayson/bates because of the fans mainly. It would show a massive decrease in ambiton if we did not offer him the same as snoddy.
