Mate I think you are getting things a bit out of proportion - the lad wants to leave, the club is getting a very good deal and the money will be re-invested. We already have Guly and De Ridder as cover, and are lodging £4m bids for other players. I dont think you should be knocking AOC, and certainly not Cortese!?

If he wants to go, he wants to go. From what I can tell, Cortese did an excellent job in keeping him here last January - and ultimately that helped us to get promoted. But it always appeared inevitable that he wanted to go. And you can't keep an unhappy player in the squad - especially in our squad, where morale appears sky-high. The last thing we want is that damaged. It's very naive to believe that any club - be them Manchester United or Poole Town - can keep hold of all their players.
If he doesn't want to be here, let him go. We'll make a nice bit of money for him so that's a bonus. Chamberlain, Puncheon, Mills, Gobern - none of them wanted to be at the club, so Adkins and Cortese got rid, simple. We only want players who want to be at Southampton that's it!
what else could cortese do, AOC wanted to leave, so cortese made sure he got a pretty incredible deal for a kid unproven above league 1. this is the happiest i have ever been about selling a player as i know the money will be reinvested and we could sign 3 players as good as chambo for that money

Just out of interest, what do people think his actual value is? I think he's probably worth about £3million + maybe £4million in potential?
I'm more angry at how he went about it,not that he is moving,if he just stayed silent and let things go on behind the scenes then i wouldn't be half as pissed off as i am now.As for people calling me immature and telling me not to be hacked off,me and my girlfriend spent a grand on 2 season tickets so i think i'm allowed to have an opinion just like all the people who support him are.If you're not annoyed then good for you but don't have a go at the people who are angry.
Wowzers some people are taking this to far. Why are people complaining we were in a win-win situation. If he stayed he plays, If and now when he goes we get a good fee!! How people can say Cortese hasn't kept to his word is MAD!! He has not embarrased the club and at this rate its the people who are over-reacting who are embarrassing the club!! We are in a great position all round at the moment, the fee will most likely be re-invested into the team/structure of the club!!
