You are probably right, but we haven't given youngsters many games for years, and when finally this season we do and they and others get stick from the start, together with the cræp results I begin to wonder.
Also from the Loft we were vocal right from the start and mainly for the 1st half.... As we came into the game in 2nd half again great singing...agreed after they got a two goal lead, we went quiet but came again from about 80 minutes...it was the best for a long time...as we obviously threw the kitchen sink at them. An unfair comment....give us something to sing about and we will (I really disapprove of the booing of Henry though...those who do it are morons) I have only ever booed one player.. and it was because he disrespected our club (Botswinga)
I wasn't aware of any booing of Henry, other than from the Wolves fans (that's not to say it didn't happen of course). What I did see, though, was Robinson having an 'exchange of views' with someone in the Paddock. It was below me in SAR, so I couldn't see exactly what went on, but Robinson certainly seemed to lose his rag with someone. This sort of stuff really doesn't help.
The thing that worries me is that we saw all those videos about how the team was together under Holloway and the spirit has changed yet Perch goes and does that? 8am this morning I wanted to check something on Sky+ and I see Holloway screaming out orders banging his chest and behind him Sandro rolling his eyes thinking "what a tw2t" I am now begining to feel sorry for Holloway because I think he has an impossible job to do.
R block were brilliant and created an amazing second half atmosphere in a half empty stadium. on the flip side the booing of a player before he'd even kicked a ball was shocking. Can those who did so please join the stay aways next time .
I had sympathy for Holloway last night. Players have to realise that if you shout aggressively in a ref's face, you're going to get booked. Even if the player feels a great injustice had been done. It's bread and butter stuff. I''ll judge Holloway after 10 games. I'm not impressed with Washington as first choice striker. Presumably there's the January window, but I can't see much quality available then.
Henry's a solid player, the problem is he's come to represent the worst of the negative football played by Hasselhoff. It's unfair on the player, and those that booed are badly misguided
I wasn't happy to see Henry come on because I feel that he lacks the creativity we needed at 2-0 down but I thought that he did well That altercation with Robinson was strange - I thought initially that he was having a go at the lino but then realised he wasn't as the shouting got pretty aggressive Holloway really has got to get a grip on discipline. Both Perch and Henry (at Forest) were initially needlessly booked for dissent. We really can't afford to lose players cheaply and hand the opposition an easy advantage when we are already struggling for results
The booing of Henry was stupid, sadly we do have fans that get frustrated very quick (not me before you say). I cannot see Holloway get much money in January so hes job will be even harder. I hate using this expression but he has 'inherited' this team and he doesn't have the players he did at Palace.
Have to agree with you. Holloway looked like a man possessed. He clearly cares but I'm afraid very few of the players really give much of a sh1t.
“I chose to put an experienced one on and he got booed. Please don’t do that to my players. “You haven’t seen him play for me yet. You haven’t seen what I’m going to teach him and get him to do, so please don’t do that. I don’t like that. I don’t think that’s right. “Yes you pay your money and you can say what you like, but I’m here to encourage people. So please don’t do that to my players. “They’re yours too aren’t they? They might not be your favourite but please don’t do that to my players. I think I’ve got every right to say that. “Should one of my players be booed before he’s even done anything for me? Please don’t come here with preconceived ideas. Give us a chance. It’s all I’m asking. “You pay your money, you can do what you like, but I don’t want to hear that. That ain’t right.” The guy is deluded. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
Let him try ..that is all he (and I) are asking Warnock managed to make a genius out of someone who could not give a ****, no-one else has manged to get more than a few badly hit corners out of him
Fair play to Olly for saying what he did about the booing. I agree with him 100%. It is totally out of order.
Think he got a knee in the back from their keeper in the first couple of minutes which seem to cause him quite a bit of discomfort......that by the way was the first free kick the ref gave to them when the keeper dropped the ball when no foul was committed........
Not too much to say from last night but just a few lines:- 1) The crowd was quiet? i thought it was the noisiest & most supportive crowd (booing Henry aside) that we have had for over two seasons. I also thought a crowd of 12k was quite good for a Thursday night! 2) Perch should have been sent off at Ipswich & was correctly last night. I say correctly because the second caution was automatic. He is close to brainless if he thinks you can make those kind of "challenges"! 3) I didn't notice any effort from Polter at any time during the game. He should have been withdrawn at half time at the latest. 4) This one is in retrospect as it didn't occur to me at the time. After the sending off, we should have changed to a back three so that we could still compete in midfield. As with the Norwich game, I thought Hall has looked better as the holding midfielder than any other we have tried in Ollies three games. 5) Perhaps we don't need a defence. Smithies seemed to cope fine by himself! Is away to Rotherham the most important game of the season?
