It is real yes you can tell. That's not the biggest question here imo. The biggest question is has he got it done for this year competition which ends in 2017, Or did he do it last season when you went out in the 3rd round? Either way
I never mentioned that there was a gulf between the two teams, a 1-1 draw and a match going to penalties would suggest there isn't. Hull are by far the worst team I've seen play live this season (including us!!), they will be relegated and finish bottom IMO. My point was more that your current strongest team couldn't put them to the sword (which you've agreed with), specifically in the final 3rd and in front of goal. Gayle, your man in form, is not PL quality, as he's already shown. Thing is, you'll get the funds to spend, it's just whether you spend them on some actual quality which is the test of most teams at the bottom of the league, as we're finding now.
Hull added another two games to their January fixture list, can only be a good thing for those down at the bottom. We'll be joining you all down there at this rate.
That's what I took from last nights game, together with their only fit centre forward beginning a three match ban and of course a wafer thin squad playing 120 minutes even though their next game isn't until next Monday night, it all adds up to extra pressure on a struggling team. Happy days.
I think they have Hernandez back for their next game anyhow, but they're nailed on for the drop. I feel sorry for Phelan, he's gone there for a challenge but he's better than that club, they're a toilet of a club, nay, they're a sanitary towel bin of a club.
Fair point, for some reason i thought you had. Many years of masturbation must be addling my eye-sight. We couldn't put them to the sword, hit woodwork and the like but i think it was 26 shots we had in normal time and no goals. Atrocious. Never said it was our strongest team! Though there's not a huge difference between any of our first 20 players - great for rotation but speaks volumes about the so-so quality of the lot. Most are still fairly young but can't see more than 5 or so being first team in the Premiership next year if we go up.
Hull for us, well... They might as well not bother turning up. Liverpool final please. Saints could do them and spoil that party though.
Good question. I don't think we have 5 PL level players. Id struggle to name them anyway! Krul, Shelvey, Lascelles and Mitro perhaps? I wish the media would stop ****ing over Gayle. He is a terrible finisher. If only Shearer were still available
Krul is a slop bucket of a goalkeeper. I'd say Richie is probably your best player. You'll be fine, in this league with a good manager like Chubber Benitez. As long as he doesn't lose the plot again. You'll invest and buy some players more suited to this league, such as Fellaini... please buy Fellaini.
Tel, I bet there were several thousands of your fans thought exactly that a few seasons ago when you had us lot in the semi's. Didn't quite work out that way so never underestimate the underdog, cos their manager might just have a good reason to beat his previous employer.
Nah mate, I'm counting the chickens already... we were never confident under Moyes, nor should you be!
This 100% I cannot believe that we sold Sissoko, bought Ritchie and made a profit. Shelvey, Lascelles and Ritchie are comfortably Premiership standard. Mbemba, Anita, Elliott (our best keeper I reckon) are probably good enough and after that we have a lot of "maybe but not convinced" players like Perez (who looked like a class player a while ago but hasn't progressed), Mitro, Hayden, etc. who in a team who are playing together as a unit are able to do a job. People make comments about how Arsenal and Chelsea would stuff us as if that defines who survives in the Premiership - failing to beat some of the veritable dross clogging up the league is what gets you relegated, I know as we were some of the dross for years and I suspect we will be again soon! There are plenty of dodgy teams in the Prem.
You might get Sissoko back on loan reading Pocchi's assessment of him. On the other hand making about 35mil "profit" in the close season and getting in player suited to getting you straight back was the logical move. Problem is what will it cost to sign Prem players to keep you up, especially in the current money climate? Add that MA's share value in Sport Direct has had a hammering, it could be interesting times coming up.
There was one task this season - get promoted. We're still a long way away from that and worrying about who will or wont be able to do a job for us in the Premiership is a side issue for now. Truth is that there are plenty of teams and players who are "not good enough" for the Premiership but in the right team and right system they do perfectly fine - we offloaded the likes of Danny Simpson and Dan Gosling for not making the grade and they're both doing fine in Premiership teams, hell half of the Bournemouth, Burnley, Watford, Leicester, Boro, Swansea, Hull and West Brom teams are players that could have been questioned over the years but they're all above us now! Think people need to be wary of decided who is and isn't good enough to play in the Prem, none of our players would get near a top 6-8 squad but it's not as though teams that come up all just go straight back down again or teams that go down just all come straight back up - in fact I'm not sure it's ever happened that all 3 go down or come up. Usually it's only one or two.
