It bothers me that we're being modded when we were fine before. This was always a mod free zone. The thread or whatever the ban was about was nothing, now the precedent has been set.

He hardly talked himself into a ban ffs, the supermods are power mad idiots.

This isn't about HIAG though, like you'd all like to believe!

If you don't like a modded board then, as I've said, pop along to the GC board.

Very limited moderation is good. Encourages decent debates while letting people have a laugh. It's all good fun.

But when people start taking it too far, it starts turning into **** (see GC). The reason that GC is **** and full of prepubescent twats is that it's got extremely lax moderators.

HIAB literally said "ban me". If that's not talking yourself into a ban then I don't know what is.

Not in a position to answer all your questions I'm afraid - and I don't know whether Resurgam has any modding rights on GC - I suspect not - seems to be wholly Jip Jap Staam's domain -

    - but you are still missing the point - HIAG's thread got reported - one of the jobs of Supermods is to act on reported posts - he did - he informed HIAG that he had closed his thread and that he should desist from making similar comments on other threads - HIAG's reaction was to dare the Supermod to ban him - he acquiesced ...

I'm generally in favour of an un-moderated board - but not without some parameters - if someone did indeed post a derogatory 96 thread or an inappropriate generalisation of Liverpool fans based on the events at Heysel I'd find that completely unacceptable and support the thread being closed and posts being deleted - even on an un-moderated board - suspect you would too (and strongly) - frankly HIAG should have wound his neck in earlier than he did but the opportunity to tarnish Chelsea FC and Chelsea fans with kiddie fiddler labels proved too much for him ... but as I posted earlier - the biggest concern is that posting stuff like that whilst stories in the Press are still developing, potentially exposes the site to closure or sanctions ...

I'd rather not laugh about disasters and be a racist idiot. The point is we don't need moderation, or very light modding if we do. The last thing we want is some idiot coming on (not knowing how this board rolls) and banning people.

This is a 24 hour warning and it's the first time I've seen any moderation on here since I signed up (I signed up after the BBC 606 was discontinued).

If that's not 'very light modding' then I don't know what is.

... just out of interest ... how come you were so silent when HIAG was demanding bans for half the posters on here?

What you're not making clear here, Fosse, is was Hiag warned by PM? Or was the Post that we saw on here last night the only warning he got?

If it was done by PM first, I've less sympathy. But if the guy was castigated on a public forum, that's not the way to do things, IMO.

Well said mate. It would be stupid for anyone to make the comment as nobody knows the true extent and the clubs involved.

Maybe because he wasn't being serious - plus that whole drama that consumed most of you for a week, I completely stayed out of.

No idea mate - I'd agree that PM would have been better in the circumstances ... but I also think we shouldn't get things out of kilter ....what's worse? that HIAG would think it appropriate to post such a thread and comments in the first place? or that he got publicly castigated for it?

Unfortunately when HIAG is getting a bit of a virtual pasting (just prior to the thread in question his A87 pretense blew up in his face and undermined the super spy claim he had been running with for most of the day) he tends to react without much thought ...

How come it's 24 hour? I didn't know what it was, tbh. Anyway that's not the point. A mod that doesn't even post on here can **** right off for all I care. If we are going to modded, it should be by one of our own. The board dynamics are too complex for the jobless supermods.

Either way a mod banned someone for farting. In future any fart will be punished by bans.

... that you think he wasn't being serious is your prerogative of course ... his seemingly outraged demand to be connected to someone more senior than brb when brb refused his banning requests was all part of his cunning subterfuge <doh> .... have a word with yourself ... <laugh>

... he has little reason to post on here ... he doesn't support a Prem team ... he posts quite frequently on his own team board ...

... the mod did not punish anyone for farting (good job given what you are spouting out of your arse today) - he banned a poster for attempting to tarnish a club and it's supporters as being kiddy fiddlers ... whether he was being serious in that or not isn't really the issue ... it was a stupid thing to do ... and then carry on doing having been asked to stop ...

Sorry mate, but HIAG was absolutely serious when he was chucking his toys out of the pram screaming for bans. He even called in the supermod to try and make that happen. It backfired, but that's normal for HIAG.

Personally I think HIAG is pretty harmless, he's not bright enough to be a serious threat to anybody but himself. But on this issue a mod asked him to tone it down (fair enough given the context) and he literally said 'go ahead ban me', so he did.

It was on the front page of the BBC website ffs, it's news.

Yes he put a twist on it, but if people are really that stupid to think he wants Skiddy to support another club because of it, they seriously need to log off.

I made my comment on that thread.

I've also said he took it too far.

I've also said this isn't about HIAG.

Not sure I need to add anymore, as I think you think I actually give a ****? <laugh>
