QPR have the perfect opportunity to put Saturday’s disappointing result behind them when we take on a struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers at Loftus Road tonight live on Sky Sports.

The R’s played well for 60 minutes at Portman Road but ended the game in a disappointing manner and were eventually well beaten 3-0.

Wolves’ poor form continued at the weekend with a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday and that means it’s been nine games since Wanderers recorded a league victory.

The last five years have been a real mixed bag for the Black Country club. After just managing to stay up in 2011 Wolves looked to have reached rock bottom when they suffered back-to-back relegations. However, a convincing season in League One, where they went up as champions followed by a solid campaign last term looked to have seen them get back on track.

However, disorder has surrounded the club this term. They sacked boss Kenny Jackett just before the season opener and replaced him with Italian Walter Zenga. But the former Sampdoria coach lasted just three months before leaving the club. Paul Lambert took over earlier in November but has not yet led the team to a victory.

Wolves currently find themselves one place above the relegation zone and you have to go back to September 24th for the last time they were victorious in the league. But that’s not to suggest that the Molineux men are not capable of getting a result. On the road this season they have already beat Birmingham City and table toppers Newcastle whilst also securing a point against Aston Villa.

Holloway’s first game in charge against Norwich saw a much needed three points and importantly a fantastic atmosphere at Loftus Road. He will be hoping he can galvanise the team and get our 4th home win under the lights in W12 this season.

Massimo Luongo returns to the R’s squad after he recovered from the illness that kept him out of the defeat to Ipswich. Elsewhere Steven Caulker is not quite ready yet but should be back in training next week and Jack Robinson remains side-lined.

Nicely done as usual 999's.....

Thursday Night game....thanks Sky, freezing cold, opponents who on a crap run of form, goal scorers who don't know how to score (for them)....what could possibly go wrong?????

We are the team that keeps on giving......

Must stop this pessimism.........and remember those poor souls....

To think that Bob Hazell played less games for us but still managed to score more goals than Karlos has!!!!!! Mind Bob was a bloody good player, him and Glenn Roeder as the center back pairing......class.

On a serious note, I know that Amy from Wexford. I thought she was from CLONDALKIN.
 
Nines, thanks for a great match introduction. :)

I am not convinced with Perch and Bidwell as wingbacks. If we were to play this formation, I would rather we risk it and play two genuine wingers (e.g. Wszolek and Shopido) who will "try to defend", but at least know how to attack and cross.

However, I hope that we will again be "pleasantly suprised" by Ollies' selection. COYR's!!!!!!

I'm not impressed with them as wing backs either Ski. Holloway said the other night that none of our wingers are good at defending. He also said that he's not started with the non English speakers as he couldn't get his instructions across to them.

Seems that a lot of hard work is required on our wingers, not just in their capability to multi task as defenders but also in their language skills.......mind I would have thought that the Polish lads would have a pretty good grasp of English as every Polish person I've met speaks English like a native.......As for the French speaking lads, well I'm not sure speaking English is encouraged quite so much.......Maybe it's Holloway's Bristol accent they can't understand and they're probably not alone in that!!!

I missed that as I only have listenened to 20 odd minutes of the Podcast. Thanks for filling me in.

So perhaps we may have a "suprise" with a different formation. 4-4-2?

And right on cue the French translation problems are solved by DT........there you are Dave a job for you translating Holloway's instructions for the French speaking lads....

I'm not sure how good Borysiuk's English is but he said Wzsolek doesn't speak a word and neither does Sylla.
