Only they do always benefit if the companies are UK based and their profits are boosted by increased arms sales.

    Happy to help <ok>

But western governments don't always benefit, which was the topic under disucssion rather than you trying to find an isolated exception, which nobody disupted exsisted.

    Happy to help. <ok>

You're right but UK nationals should come first in a housing shortage imo.

Other things being equal, I'd agree with you. I wouldn't personally allocate a single English bloke a property over a foreign family though, for example.

So if we have insufficient housing stock maybe its best not to keep bringing people into the UK.
Also the UK give billions in aid to the world, maybe we should invite the world to live in the UK, thats what the left seem to want.

Let them move into Stan's mansion. I am sure such a humanitarian as he, would be only too happy to doss down on the sofa and give his bed to some poor **** that has just circumnavigated half the globe to arrive on his doorstep.

Tell us stan, how many desperadoes are you currently playing host to in 'Chez Snide'?

4 as you and Kustard would consider me and my lot to be undesirables <laugh>

By the way, I've never claimed to have a mansion. Same as I never said we had a pool. All stuff that emanated in your head and which you subsequently got yourself into a frenzy about.

Perhaps you can make yourself feel better by getting hammered and threatening to sexually assault someone's missus. You're such a calm, level headed soul <cheers>

It's not what the left want. It's what the Mail and marginally smarter lunatics than you like Pete have told you they want.

Your solution firstly would deny us the benefits immigration brings. Secondly it makes the UK look inhospitable on the world stage when we've more than played our part in creating the problem and thirdly it's just morally wrong to put our fingers in our ears and hope the problem goes away, which it wouldn't.

As with Brexit, some negotiation/compromise is better than just demanding the outcome that suits us best.

So the chant at your march would be, "what do we want" " not that".

I think it's already being used by various left leaning protests.

It's a bit like protestors being interviwed in tv studios demanding to be heard, but then when they get the chance, can only repeat to the gloabl audience that their main aim is to be heard, but that they've not got round to deciding what the message beyond that is yet.

What part of the "we spend Billions on aid" do you fail to understand?

    From the Marxist BBC

"The UK would consider making payments to the EU after it leaves the bloc to secure the best possible access to the EU single market, Brexit Secretary David Davis has said."

"He said reports Boris Johnson backed freedom of movement were "at odds" with what he knew of Mr Johnson's views."

    What a shambles <laugh>

I wasn't disagreeing with your "solution". I was saying it wasn't a solution at all, just an idealistic strategy to help the neediest so we're equal on that score IMO.

The problem, for me at least, is a lack of supply of housing and other services. Some have an issue with the demand side i.e. foreigners wanting to live here. Address the supply side issues by ignoring the NIMBYs when it comes to building and allocating resources away from areas like space exploration and misused foreign aid.

The problem then just becomes one for people who don't like immigrants regardless.
