What a terrible tragedy. On the back of a fairytale season to be struck by something so horrendous is a reminder of how just cruel life can be. RIP to all of those involved.
FourFourTweet @FourFourTweet Teams in Brazil have said they will give players to Chapecoense so that they can continue as a club. The owner of Benfica has also offered to lend them some players.
PSG have informed FIFA that they will donate £40m to Brazilian club Chapecoense. That's quite some gesture.
Brings back memories of another fortunate non-traveler who missed the Man. United Munich air disaster. Usually picked in the traveling squad he was left out of the team on this occasion. Went on to become one of the 'Busby Babes'....Alex Dawson. I knew him from my high school football days back in the 50's when he played for Hull City Boys.
The minutes silence before the game was well observed apart from the noisy buggers on the concourse at the away end.
We've had this before, I told Mooney he needed to put these things up on the screens on the concourse so people knew what was going on, he said they would, but I've still never seen it happen.
Sky News @SkyNews #Chapecoense footballer who survived plane crash has undergone surgery to have his right leg amputated, doctors say. Poor fella.
The plane that crashed with the Chapecoense players on board was the one that carried Argentina after their 3-0 loss to Brazil 18 days ago.
Apparently there was another plane that had a fuel leak was given priority to land, so it had to circle a few time. But to be that low on fuel is criminal..
Ronaldinho and Riquelme have offered to come out of retirement and play for Chapocoence for a year or two for free.
