Chambers might easily have been our first choice RB this season if he'd stayed, but on the other hand Koeman probably wouldn't have played him; or even known who he was.
If you want someone to keep Ramsey and the Manc reject warm on the treatment table then crack on, about £30M will do it.
Shocking journey home from Emirates last night - M3 closed 2-4 and roadworks everywhere. Got back at 1am but boy it was worth it. It was my brothers 39th birthday and got him ticket for present. At back of lower stand positioned right with the loudest songsters - some of their homemade lyrics were hilarious and enjoyed singing with them all game - been years since been in away end. No voice left this morning! Superb performance (fans and players)
He's the next Ali Dia/Delgado though. According to those on Facebook who seem to think four games after five months out is PLENTY of time to judge a player.
Finally got back at 2am, I'm so tired but SO worth it. We were immense. Nice to have met you LT86, did your dad enjoy the game?
Flew into Dubai overnight: my wife recorded the game so only watched it in the last couple of hours. Great performance all round; am worried about Long however; that missed chance towards the end so nearly cost us: Oxo thankfully blasted over the bar just afterwards: had Oxo scored: might have been a game-changer. Both very good goals with excellant build up. Finally the travelling fans: you were immense: could hear you through the TV so loudly throughout!
Just watched interviews with Puel and Wenger. I think the difference is that big clubs like Arsenal view the League Cup as a chance to give players game time, whereas Puel views all games in this way. Therefore, our team always has several changes and, despite these changes, the team plays equally well (most of the time). Must frustrate some players as they will want to play every game, but is good for team togetherness and helps us be ready when players are injured. Replacements just slot in. This has always been Puel's plan and fans are beginning to get it now.
Typical of Arsenal to let you down But then you did bet on our defence conceding a goal, so maybe you shouldn't be suprised to lose money on such a rash decision
Just watched highlights again...it took Clasie a few seconds after scoring to realise that he was supposed to run to give his team mates a chance to chase him. He's never been the hare before.
Hey if we gave you the 3 points when we go to Anfield the league could you give us this please? That would be mutually beneficial.
You must have wondered at the lack of self entitled misery Naah that'll be a loan and Shane Long will demonstrate how to play on through any number of injuries The dance will have to go though
Funny old game. I though Long was Long. Worked his socks off and chased all night, getting kicked from pillar to post, but didn't do that great with his decision making on the ball. Love him, but if he was a bit cleverer when he had the ball, he/we would score more. Not knocking him though. Your mate Kevin Friend doesn't like him!
I don't think this will ever change for Shane unfortunately. Unless maybe he was the main man playing week in week out.
I wish Sam had scored. One it was a brilliant move and two, it would have done his confidence a world of good too. Sims! Just Sims!!!
He still did his flappy leg dance a few times, but generally defended well I thought. His biggest problem is that when he goes forward he forgets where he is when we lose the ball, and has to dash back frantically. Fortunately Maya was absolutely outstanding in defence, better than Virgil if I had to choose between them. And yes, Sims seemed to give everyone a lift when he came on. The thought of him, Boufal and Tadić, all fully fit, on the pitch together just makes me smile a lot.
Liverpool were the only team i wanted to avoid in the semis, would much rather have them in the final, I think Klopp has lost 6 in a row...
