The game of football has been on a very slippery slope for far too long and when big business rules the roost then virtually all hope of redemption has gone. Brexit was the will of the people but in the case of football there will be no referendum to see what the people that really should matter think. Greed and corruption rule the day and only when the paying public decide to boycott the sport by staying away will there be any chance of changing the way the sport is delivered. Looking at the national team and it's fall from grace only goes to show what happens when you allow foreigners to determine what is best for you, and if you truly think they only have your best interests at heart then please contact me to purchase some arable land I own up in the Arctic.

Do you really believe that the owners will stick to the rules set out by governing bodies????

    Sky TV runs football.

The BBC are hardly blameless for moving matches - for example moving FA Cup ties in Rds 1 & 2 to a Sunday

If common sense was the determining factor in all things worldwide then we would be living in paradise, but we're not. Money rules every time.

    Absolutely Mike.

Anyway, how is it in western Canada? We are going on about having temperatures of minus 4 to minus 8 at night. What's the weather like over there?

Ouch. we have a very slight frost this morning and I refuse to scrape the windscreen because I just won't. Apart from that disaster my world revolves as usual in a beautiful place, which despite the record rainfall in both October and November, doesn't dampen my spirits because this time next week I fly down to Mexico for 7 weeks. I will raise a bottle (or 2) of Corona to all my 606 buddies enjoying the English weather.

I wonder what will happen down at Ashton Gate during my absence? Bye for now EH.
