Well Clayton, Lees and Nunez seems to have reaped the benefits of being loaned out and now they are 3 young players on perm contracts with us that are featuring. Ones mans journeyman is another mans stalwart whose names if first on the teamsheet. Apart from O'Dea, all the starters on Sat were on our books perm, which is a big change from previous, so the argument is that we are actually progressing, especially over seasons as a whole (L1 play offs, L1 promotion, 7th in Champ, this season...........). Show that to anybody and that is progression. If you try and assume what is going to happen this season as regards progression after 90 mins of football out of a possible 4140 mins then I would have to say that would be the worng thing to do!
That was an in the moment (over)reaction to the people who were proclaiming that it was the worst performance from any football team ever and our season was over.
Last season I would have been pleased with 10th and a couple of promising signings or developments, Somma coming through for example and Gradel shining. Then this season I would have hoped for a couple more QUALITY signings and see us pushing for a play off maybe and sorting out contracts long before there is a year left and a players agent feels they are worth OTT. Instead we take 2 steps backward, no matter how you look at it, the squad this season is weaker than the squad that finished last season.

Actually they quite like me over there if you would have a look . I still don't see how the squad is supposedly so much weaker than the one that finished last season, the only real loss is Lichaj.
You can have as many managers in as you want. But if they don't get the financial backing from the chairman, then they are foooooooked.

I would actually directly link Johnson with Clayton, but I do think both players who started in CM are better than Kilkenny and Johnson. How Johnson got himself into a PL team I'll never know.

I can see why he started with who he did on Sat, and I think they will get a chance to rectify things on Sat. If it goes tits up then though SG will make changes and I would expect them to start. He has completely shuffled it before after a bad performance or two and will do it again. The loan players coming into us were of Champ level coming from a Prem club, we loaned out to L1 as that was the level they were at then with us being Champ.
