I've been banging on about playing 352 for a while, and it cried out last night to change to it in the first half when Shelvey was running the midfield. We needed to wrestle back the midfield and putting 5 there would have also moved us further up the pitch. At the moment this formation suit the players we have. The problem is after shipping so many goals of late MP is trying to stay tight at the back and not venture forward until we had taken the sting out of the game.
As Pete said 70/71 and a few occasions after. Think the last 20,000 plus crowd for a league game was against Sunderlan when they brought about 15,000 in their promotion season 1975 I think. The last 20,000 plus crowd before the move to the BP was the Liverpool Cup game in 1989. The last 40,000 plus crowd for a League game was Millwall, the last 30,000 plus crowd for a league game was against Huddersfield Boxing Day 1966. The last 40,000 plus game in any competition was the Chelsea Replay and the last 30,000 plus crowd in any competition was West Ham in the Cup. Was at all of the above games except the Chelsea replay.
I also believe 352 is the way forward, however the 3 defenders (Daws,Curtis and Harry) are not quick enough, however, they would only be marking 1 attacker. I don't understand how Elmo still gets in the team.

I find a delicious irony in posting a link to a website that runs as smoothly as said turnstiles. I'll try clicking the link before they've written the article next time to avoid such a car crash of a website.
3 centre halves gives us that solidity. He's asking Elmo and Robbo to essentially do the same job but with only two centre halves I think they lack the security of knowing if it doesn't go to plan there's only two left at the back.
Went to the cinema here in Lyon on Sunday to see Brad Pitt & Marion Cotillard in Allies.. there was a special offer, the cinema had cut the adult prices from €11 to €6.. result? a full house... It doesn't take a bloody genius but it takes more than an obdurate, smarmy son of a marine engineering company chairman to optimize the stadium and resurrect the name of this club
Man United 1-1 West Ham (sloppy equaliser Man United just conceded). Arsenal 0-1 Southampton (Arsenal not had a shot on target apparently).
