I don't think GLP is ever on a wind-up. Quite the opposite; he just gets strangely wound up by normal debate about football issues.

Ha ha as if by magic. The only two people that believe Marshall is the better option in goal.

PLT who doesn't attend home games, or do you go now? I'm not sure?

I really don't understand why you want an argument.

No I don't attend home games, unless I can do so without paying the Allams, while the current situation at the club continues. That's been the case for over a year and I've never said anything to the contrary.

    What's the problem here?

    You're missing your hero Marshall?

Beyond Snodgrass we have Clucas (My choice for player of the season YTD), Dawson, Robertson, Diomande (He's impressed me so far this season), Mbokani looks decent - we're just not playing to his strengths and Livermore.

We have a decent squad on paper, just not a very big one. We do have shed loads of midfielders and goalkeepers too - which causes imbalance to the squad.

I don't disagree with any of that, just that in Premier League terms, they're all really quite insignificant aren't they? Apart from Snodgrass. I mean, fans of other clubs will hardly be fearing playing us because of anyone other than Snodgrass.

How many away games have you attended? Out of interest?

You could apply that train of thought to most of the bottom half of the PL. it is sometimes much better to have an unknown gem (Clucas) than a known quantity (Mason). If you asked anyone who the £13m player was if they'd watched them play a few games - I'm pretty confident most would pick Clucas.

You can bet yourself if Villa get promoted Bruce will be knocking on our door to take some of our players to play in the PL.

We have a small squad that at the moment based on what I have seen is not being played to its strengths.

    Everyone can see that surely?

Goalkeeper issue aside Mbokani needs to play up front with some support, we also need to be getting crosses in - which we aren't doing in our current set-up.

It needs to be 3-5-2 to allow Elmo and Robertson more licence to attack and deliver crosses into Mbokani and A N Other.

We need to accommodate Maguire into that back 3 somehow as he's comfortable on the ball and he's an additional threat from set pieces.

I think Marshall is better than Jak. That's not to say that I don't think Jak should probably get the nod against Boro.

Just throwing out my opinion. I think Marshall is the better keeper but something has to change. We've conceded a lot since Marshall's been in goal, even if they're not his fault, something has to change and we're limited with outfield positions.

Marshall was a decent keeper a few years back, we seem to have got the inferior version that appears lacking in mobility and reaction time. Whereas Jakupovic seems up for it, up for the battle and highly motivated. You can't help but think that charisma and enthusiasm is brushing off on other players within the team.

I agree about this part. There seems to be the ability to grind out results, like earlier in the season, when Jakupovic is playing.

I remember when we played at Old Trafford in the League Cup and thousands of us missed the first 20 minutes because they didn't open enough turnstiles in the away end. I was explaining to everybody that Manchester United didn't have sufficient experience to hold big matches.

We squeeked through this one but either because of tactics or play (most likely both and based on whatever training they do) we don't muster much up front.

The best move may have been the effort Snodgrass missed. Which was from what I remember a good move with an assist by Diomande. The goal was an assist from Hendrikson after the ball had just rebounded to him from Diomande running to goal. Snodgrass also had a shot first half from a rebound after a Diomande run forced a defender to challenge.

As we don't put much together at the other end maybe just piling more forward we could get more of these rebound opportunities. Otherwise it's dependent on a quick breakway like the Snodgrass miss, but most teams won't allow you to easily have breakaways like that. I don't remember the setpieces being that great in the game.

It is ridiculous. Other teams seem to attack non-stop even if they are playing badly. We only look dangerous when we attack quickly but instead we like to take a corner and manage to get it back to our goalkeeper without much effort.

Wonder if they based things on what Humberside Police told them? When we played Blyth Spartans at Elland Road I remember a copper saying to another copper as they tried to stop us making our way to the Old Peacock,"Bloody hell, how many are there, our lot in Hull said about 500-1,000 would be coming.
The lack of turnstiles for the for the 4-2 win at Hillsborough was because Wednesday were told to expect 2-3,000 from Hull.

So how early do they have to turn up where they get larger crowds than us to ensure getting in on time? Newcastle for example.

Oh for the days in the early 70s when you could leave the Three Tuns at ten to three, make your way through the warring factions in the 20,000 crowd and still be in place behind the goal on Bunkers in time for kick off.

I think Ehab may be knocking on your door glp after he's sacked Phelan.
Serious question. how often did that happen in the 70's?
