Any news on his contract? Got told today that he's been told he can look for another club! Even Ehab isn't that thick is he?
He's being offered a new deal, Phelan confirmed it in his pre-match press conference. Does nobody read my team news threads?
It runs out at the end of this season, but we do have the option of extending his existing contract by another year.
There are not expected to be any late hiccups regarding the three-year deal, which has the option of a fourth year, and club officials at the KC are confident he will be unveiled next week. http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/robe...1302881-detail/story.html#qR8mckfH3BujeuBY.99
I wonder what that 'option of a fourth year' actually means. Who has the option? Do both sides have to agree to it? If so then it's a pointless clause isn't it?
Not doubting you (or maybe I am a bit) but someone needs to tell Burnsy if this is the case. He's been going on about the contract situation since the weekend and seems convinced that we could lose him in the summer. Snodgrass' interview on Saturday seemed to support that too.
I can''t remember the exact words he used but I got the impression that Mike Phelan was just hoping that a new contract would be offered to Snodgrass rather than actually stating that one would be offered. Maybe I missed something.
Livermore, Robertson and Maguire all have additional one year options (Diame was also on the same terms).
So why didn't we take the option when he wanted to leave, why did we offer a new contract instead? Had we already taken the option the year before?
To who, Diame? He had a release clause, we couldn't stop him leaving and the length of his contract was irrelevant, he didn't leave on a free, we sold him for £4.5m.
