It wouldn't surprise me that they go on to win it. They don't win matches but they don't lose many. In a two match tie they seem able to retrieve any away mishap at home. So far they have done well in cup ties at home and they seem able to score more than in the league. Mourinho seemed to be quite good at getting through these European ties.

I think Mourinho is having a different type of difficulty at your place, one that he is not used to. He does not know his strongest formation yet nor his best players. He has too much choice and he has yet to work out where each player sits. He tried some players in the cup and even though they did well he still plays the players he rested.

The major problem he has in the European matches is that he is still losing away, albeit by the odd goal. Against the stronger teams he may come up a cropper should he rely too much on home wins.

 

Firstly, the original retort by Diego on MITO because MITO said the united team didn't work hard enough and that was the cause of them not creating chances.

Diego quite rightly put MITO in his place by saying it was because United have not been finishing chances, not because they haven't been creating enough.

Off the top of my head i can tell Ibra has missed loads of sitters:

had 2 1 on1s against lee grant i think and maybe 2 pretty decent chances that match. Against Burnley he had about 3 big chances in that box which he missed. Against City he had an open goal which defender cleared off. Against chelsea he missed a pretty decent header chance.

 

If your striker can't take chances then that's his problem.
